As the sun is starting to warm us up, we are sharing today some words from our dear @chombadj : "I come from Chile, where barbecues are part of almost every gathering, but 15 years ago, I decided to stop eating meat. After learning about the environmental impact of livestock — which accounts for around 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions, a similar share to the entire global transport sector* — I felt that changing my diet was a small but meaningful contribution I could make. For me, ecological awareness starts with everyday choices: food, transport, consumption. Food is especially powerful because it’s something we choose every single day. We are so happy to start the journey and the evening next Friday with @chombadj 💜 -- CHOMBA is a producer, DJ, and live act from Santiago de Chile, now based in Berlin. His sound blends organic textures, deep percussion, and atmospheric grooves, moving between tempos to create a journey that makes people dance but also drift into a deeper, emotional state. In his productions, CHOMBA works with field recordings from his travels, experiments with diverse organic and global influences, and loves to play with vocals and phrases that connect people to deep emotions—shaping a warm, expressive, and hypnotic sonic identity. In 2025 he debuted his first live set, exploring new ways of building and layering sound to create a one-hour immersive trip—energetic, emotional, and deeply hypnotic. Before coming to Berlin, Chomba was for more than five years an active part of the Chilean downtempo and organic scene, CHOMBA is also part of @mystic.creatures_ where he has connected deeply with the city’s underground and expanded his artistic direction. 10 years ago, when I first opened Ableton and began experimenting with it, I could only dream of a moment like this — playing a live set made entirely of my own music. It became one of the most challenging journeys I’ve taken in music, and honestly, I doubted myself right up until the very last minute. Everything felt so new, so unknown, and with so many chances for things to go wrong. But then the magic arrived with the very first track: watching everyone dance, eyes closed, surrendering to the journey, supporting and sharing that energy with me. I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect evening. ★ Thank you to everyone who was there dancing and sending love, to all who have supported me throughout this past year, and to Mystic for making the dance in the island possible. That special time of the year has arrived again, back to the magical island of @mystic.creatures_ ✨ This time I’ll be playing a live set on Sunday at 17:00, with 100% unreleased music I’ve been creating over the past year. Working on this was both very exciting and tough; putting together a whole journey only with my own tracks wasn’t as easy as I thought. I tend to be way more critical of my music than of others, and that was definitely something I struggled with during the process. But at the same time, diving into new challenges like playing with Ableton controllers (instead of my usual CDJs) gave me so many new tools to play with and explore creatively. I am very happy to challenge myself in this creative process, and looking forward to what it will bring. Hace 7 años fui a mi primer Kompaz, en la terraza Mimi en Valpo… una noche mágica, llena de colores, música y amor. Un año después viví mi primer festival: Kompaz en Playa Las Docas… súper íntimo, especial, lleno de nuevas experiencias. Este finde volví a vivir Kompaz, pero esta vez en Alemania 🇩🇪 Como siempre: hermoso, emotivo y lleno de gente linda. Pude probar algunas canciones del nuevo live set y conectar con personas muy especiales. Muy feliz de ver que Benja logró hacer su Kompaz acá… y muy impresionado con todo lo que armaron junto a @katharinadomini , @sandmann_sunny y el tremendo equipo. Hace tiempo que no tocaba en un escenario tan especial… el DJ booth del barco, envuelto en humo, se sentía como una máquina de magia musical.
