In today’s episode of cheap thrills, I’ve done the engine harness. That includes almost everything for the car to run and drive. We are using the cheapest standalone ecu MS3. Also, with some help, we did the chassis harness, control panels and wired the original dash.
We have complete fuel system with a fuel surge tank and a stronger fuel pump, along with 470cc injectors and everyone’s favourite VW coil plugs. The cooling system is complete, with a stock radiator and a relocated expansion tank. The intake manifold is the original 2.0, idle control system is complete and everything under the manifold.
The hydro e-brake is fabricated and mounted. It’s not IRP, but it will do the same job for like 40 euro 😀. We bought the cheapest suspension we can find, and that’s for the next part, along with the angle kit.
The E36 is on pause. The engine is coming together little by little, but that’s for another post.

Another day , another work done.
E36 diffs are expensive these days, so I modified the rear subframe to fit differential from e39 , also wanted to upgrade the shaft with stronger one, so i also modified upper control arms for the biggest and cheapest axle shafts. Also finished reinforcements on the back with the control arm pockets, now we can say that rear suspension is kinda finished.
Meanwhile on the inside i throw the wiring, carpet and the dashboard. I had ugly work done by the previous owners around the shifter, so welded new plate, mounted the new shifter and the rest panels around. For the e-brake, i did modify the chinese one, ordered laser cut parts, put bearing and welded a basic pipe 😀, the result is zero play and stable assembly. More to come soon.

So, we’ve got a new character entering the game.
Me and my buddy @martin9yankov decided to build this car so he can enjoy drift days with us. The goal is to keep it as cheap as possible. Previously, I removed everything we didn’t need from the engine bay, and it’s a lot cleaner now.
We’re running a stock M50B20 I already had, fresh gaskets and bearings, more aggressive exhaust cam, cheap turbo and manifold, and fully refreshed cooling system.
So far, we’ve reinforced the rear subframe with plates and poly bushings from @k13_fabs , and cut and welded the fenders.
A lot of progress in just one month and more to come.

Been a while.
On the left side, I fixed the rust, finished the reinforcements, and stitch-welded all the joints in the bay. I also made new mounts for the intercooler and the hydro cooler.
As for the engine, I’m doing basic maintenance — gaskets, seals, etc. The oil gears and pressure control valve were damaged, so I’m installing new oil gears and a good-condition valve from another engine. The block got fresh paint, and the bearings are staying since they’re in perfect condition.
We installed an empty engine with the transmission, so I can start fabricating the intake and exhaust manifolds and a new trans mount.

Part 3 - on the upper side of the rear subframe, both the front and rear mounts were torn, аfter welding them, I made reinforcement that also ties into the rear strut towers for extra stiffness.
Up front, after a ‘small’ pothole, the right strut tower bent over 1 cm toward the engine. We pulled it back to its original position, and since the front end of the chassis was loose, I made the first part of the reinforcements.
Also sealed the floor on the inside, now waiting for paint.
