Could I be a bigger nerd? 😂 Sometimes you just have to be a little cringy. 😊 But also, seriously so proud of myself for this (and I actually had to make a couple quick pit stops for the restroom in this run, so my time could have been even faster). Would not be here without @runningcoachmegan and her training plans! #coaching #running #marathontraining

Quick tip: when did you last do a time audit on your calendar? Set aside 10 minutes and look at your upcoming meetings. For each one, ask yourself: • Is this meeting necessary? • Is this meeting the right length? • Are the right people in this meeting? • Do I need to be in this meeting? • Is this meeting happening on the right cadence? • Are we covering this information in any other meeting? We spend so much time in meetings that aren’t effective because we don’t ask these questions regularly. Let’s get that time back for deep thinking, big strategy, and yes, rest and relaxation too. #TimeManagement #CalendarAudit #MeetingCulture #LeadershipTips #CoCreateWork

A whirlwind trip, and lots more to come in terms of the amazing event we cohosted with @thekey_pr and @radicistudios , but I just want to give a shoutout to our amazing team! As a remote-first business, we are spread across five states, so the time we get together in person is so important. We spent last night at dinner celebrating a successful event, La’Kita’s birthday, and laughing so hard I had tears. My wish for everyone is that you could enjoy your work and your team as much as we enjoy ours. Shameless self-promotion: if you want to know how to create a team like this, we can help you! It’s what we do. 😊

Growing up, my sister and I developed a practice that started with the question: “Can I just brag for a minute?” It was the way we gave each other permission to celebrate our wins and talk about how great we are. 😂 And I feel so lucky that this is a thing we did and still do. And now I help my clients do this by starting each call with the question: “What wins are we celebrating today?” And it is literally the best way to start a call. As a coach, I’m often helping clients solve problems and we always get to those, but by starting with the wins (and I love to ask what made those wins possible) we prime the brain to find solutions. Positive emotions literally expand our cognitive capacity, making us more creative and more open to solutions. And when we ask what made the win possible, we build self-efficacy (our belief that we can do hard things again), which is one of the strongest predictors of future performance. Harvard research has even found that people who regularly reflect on what went well learn faster and perform better over time. So by the time we get to the problems, the brain is actually better equipped to solve them. And also, it does just feel good! #leadership #celebrateyourwins #executivecoaching #positivepsychology #problemsolving

I used to think meditation had to look a certain way, and it always felt hard to access. Then I learned how much the brain responds to rhythm and repetition. Neuroscience shows that predictable, tactile tasks help quiet the amygdala, shift the body toward parasympathetic regulation, and create the kind of steady focus that feels like relief. Crocheting does that for me. The pattern, the texture, the way my hands know what to do. It brings my attention out of my head and into my body. I find the same grounded presence in pen on paper, in the left‑right rhythm of running, and in the quiet concentration of LEGO bricks clicking together. These kinds of tasks create a gentle flow state where the nervous system softens and time feels different. There are so many ways to meditate, so if the “traditional” version doesn’t work for you, try something with a little movement. #meditation #emobodiedpractice #flowstate #crochet #emotionalregulation

Happy Mother’s Day to the amazing women who raised me! Of course, my mom who shaped so much of who I am in the best ways including my love of cooking, travel, Europe, crafting, and therapy. My grandma who showed me what it means to always be learning, how to host a great dinner party, how to make Swedish pancakes, the beauty of acts of service, and gave me the beginnings of my love of Japan. And my mom’s two sisters who have been ever present in my life and continue to be there through it all. I come from a long line of amazing women and am so grateful for their examples and support!

As a coach myself, I am obviously a big believer in the difference a coach can make. Great coaches, no matter the area of expertise, know how to push you in a way that is both supportive and a little scary. My goal starting out with @runningcoachmegan was to get to a sub-5 hour marathon (like, 4:59:59 was it). When I put my next marathon (November 8) into our coaching app, it spit out a race prediction time that feels seriously absurd to me. My coach clearly sees more potential in me than I do…or did. I’m getting there. 🤣 On top of her expertise, having an accountability partner who isn’t there to shame, but support, and who helps me get curious about what’s working and what might not be is so valuable. She’s also not the only coach I have. I have my own business coach (@jadahsellner ), as well as a mindset coach (@rlmcloughlin ). Yep…I practice what I preach. We all deserve support in pursuit of our big goals. And someone who pushes us to the point of being at least a little scared. 😂 #runningcoach #executivecoaching #goalsetting #businesscoach #mindsetcoaching

Is your fear of rejection keeping you from going after what you want? This is actually a practice I tried while working on my negotiation skills during my MBA. It was a tactic introduced to me in the book Ask For It by Linda Babcock and Sara Laschever. The idea being about desensitization. And really, as my mom would often say, “if you don’t ask, the answer is already no, so you have nothing to lose.” I know it’s easier said than done, but might be worth trying. #executivecoaching #leadership #rejection #gobig

I was talking with a client yesterday about intuition and how she’s incredibly intuitive, but still feels like she has to “justify” her decisions with something more concrete. And it made me wonder when we decided that the data from our own body stopped counting. Our bodies pick up signals long before our brain finishes the analysis. Sensation is data. Awareness is data. I’ve been reading The Wisdom of Your Body by Hillary McBride, and it’s such a grounded reminder of how much information we’re carrying if we’d just slow down enough to notice it. #executivecoaching #leadership #intuition #bookrecommendations

One of the best things you can do in your life (not just work) is to figure out what sucks your energy vs what gives you energy and the ways you can structure your work and life in a way that’s best for you. #executivecoaching #leadership #workstyles

We’re going to be real with you: we’re in the messy middle. The new program is in progress, the website is coming, and the bigger vision is very much still being built. It doesn’t always look pretty from the inside, but we know we aren’t alone in this season. If you’re in the thick of something right now, working hard without seeing the finish line yet, this one’s for you. Swipe through for three things we keep coming back to when the middle feels too messy. 👉 #MessyMiddle #BuildingInPublic #LeadershipDevelopment #ExecutiveCoaching #GrowthMindset

Setting goals is such a good practice, but if you’re not thinking about goals in terms of input and output goals, you’re not setting yourself up for success. #goalsetting #executivecoaching #leadership
