Lifer 2024
Lifer explores the emotive relationship between humans and species decline in the context of climate breakdown. The motif of the bird is commonly used in my practice and represents more-than-human ecology.
The bird is wrapped in model architecture grass material, creating a soft and welcoming feel. During its display at the 2024 March Central Saint Martins BA Fine Art Open Studio, the back of the bird was rubbed clean of the flocking material by the audience. This might encourage a desire to touch and reconnect with the natural world through contemporary art.
