I held an embroidery workshop using threads dyed with wildflowers gathered around my atelier.
The theme was โto hold.โ
The tiny flowers that add color to what we see,
the path of a bee in flight, the sound of birds singing,
the scent of sea breeze mixed with the richness of living soilโ
Taking these sensations felt in the body in the present moment,
we let our hands move freely, transferring them onto the fabric,
and tried to hold this moment in place with a needle.
Even though the actions were the same, each participant was thinking and feeling something completely different, and the conversations that emerged were truly fascinating. It made me realize that embroidery can also be a form of meditation.
