Our little chippy down a side street received a very welcome plug yesterday by acting legend, and No.8 Friday regular, Pearce Quigley on Sunday morning staple, Channel 4’s “Sunday Brunch”!

House breaded calamari on ‘Special’ from today.
Squid rings tenderised in buttermilk, seasoned with garlic and smoked paprika and fried with a crispy breadcrumb. Served with a lemon aioli 💥

FYI. Just watch out for the crater in the road outside the shop if you’re driving down or crossing the road. Rumour has it, the Artemis II astronauts mistook Prestwich for the dark side of the moon until ground control corrected them.
@burycouncil have been chucking a lump of tarmac in it annually for the last 8 years that usually sees it good for about two months before it’s chewed out again but they’ve gone missing for a while now so it’s pretty bad. I’ve been saving our window cleaning invoices for them when they present their new increased business rates bill👌

Sinead. aka Shin. aka Shinno. aka The Nugget. She’s gonna hate me for this but hey ho, credit is due.
A No.8 “Chippy Gal” for nearly 5 years, and now, the real captain of our ship. I don’t know how I’d cope without her, in particular last week.
Whilst I was unexpectedly holed up in NMGH’s coronary care unit, Shin took up the mantle with aplomb to ensure no one was deprived of their chippy tea!
It’s no mean feat running this gaff. I find it hard and I’ve been doing it for 8 years. Sinead hasn’t even reached her 21st birthday yet!
With a more than able team rolling up their sleeves behind her they all performed impeccably.
From the bottom of my heart (albeit a slightly wonky one currently!) thank you Sinead, Aidan, Aurelian, Martha, Libby, Isabella, Lily, Amy, Liv, Charlie and Max. All stars! Also, a big thank you to Josh and Matt who helped Sinead with the heavy tasks.
We will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday 17th) but back open Wednesday.
