Other than rain all day, it's been a great day. Got the GAW finished up with @lebreton4926 winning, celebrating my mom's 93rd birthday, one brother is in town, the other coming in tomorrow. At my sister's house now. She's a gourmet chef, so we're all pigging out on lots of appetizers, and the main course is of almond crusted halibut, rice pilaf, and caesar salad, is nearly ready. No idea what's for dessert, but guaranteed to be delicious.
Since it's raining, I set up my lights and recorded this clip with my Stitched Steel Paradigm #29. Wish I could say I got it in one, but noooo. Took multiple takes to finally get something halfway decent.

Ok, what can I say, geekin out on the new Mantis. Decided I'm not going to make it up to a quite place in the canyons for an outdoor sound test. You can hear the Mantis pretty well in this clip, even though I added some music to cover the ambient background noise. Better some beat music than the wind and kids playing in the neighborhood. She drew first blood, not bad, but enough to make this official. We're bonded, respect, lol

Truck cab studio flips this evening. It was chilly and windy all day and every time I got out of the truck I couldn't get motivated to deal with flipping in that. Nice to have other options.
Flipping one of my Medford Viceroy's in this clip. Screwed up on my arm catch, more of a arm table catch, but saved it on the transfer to hand catch ending.

Stopped earlier today about 6 miles south of Mina, NV off US-95. Pretty damn hot, about 95 degrees and bright to the point I had trouble seeing the screen on my phone to set my shutter speed and ISO. Didn't do a great job framing either, lol. It was an interesting spot though, so I did what I could.

Looks like I'll be in and out of SoCal on the same day, lucky me. That's always a good thing because SoCal can easily eat up two days because of the traffic and they're super slow loading and unloading trailers here. Most of the warehouses are Union and they love their breaks and they're never in a hurry. It's like they move at half speed.
In a dock now waiting for over 2 hours so far to get loaded.
So, time to do a little Slimline Dagger clip.

Quick stop to flip next to 300 foot cliffs. Windy too. Not a fan of flipping on windy days, especially with my back to a 300 foot cliff. Cut my thumb on a bad arm catch, but soldiered on with take two.

Been really busy the past few of days, but finally finished today without being wiped and ready to go to bed right away. Needed to flip something fun and easy. The JL Slimline fits the bill perfectly. If you haven't flipped one you really are missing out on a great flipping experience. Slimline B26 is a daily flipper, actually it's a fairly basic build, yet beautiful with the bronze blackened ti handles, acidwashed nitro V blade and weighing in at 4.195 it's light and has a perfect amount of texture and grip.

Gonna do some reels with some of my balisongs that haven't really gotten a lot of flipping. Not everything in my collection costs over a grand. The B.A. Tesseract is a great example. I don't remember what it cost, but in the $500 range depending on what finish you wanted.
First thing I noticed was how light it is. At 3.405 ozs it may be my lightest balisong, even lighter than my Machinewise Prysma that weighs only 3.770 ozs.
Anyway, the Tesseract fans and chaplins with hardly and effort. Feels great doing the other tricks I do as well. I'm nowhere good enough to do reviews, but I bet this thing would fly with a good tech flipper.
Blake is apparently out of the balisong community, so no more balisongs or modding. If you want a Tesseract you'll have to find one that someone is selling or trading. I did see John Carlo @oldschoolbalisong had one for sell recently. Not sure if it's still available, but I'm liking mine and putting it in the daily rotation for awhile to get a better feel for it.
