Thereās something powerful that happens when men come together, not just to talk, but to step out into the real world and do something that actually matters.
Because change requires change⦠instead of speaking about how rubbish life can be at times, or moaning about our hometown, itās about doing something about it⦠pun intended. And what better way to lift our spirits than by making our town a cleaner, safer space for everyone.
As part of our monthly programme at Man Kind Movement CIC, we hold a Community Connection Week, getting out into our local area to support and connect with the community. This month, as suggested by one of our members, we headed into Ipswich town centre to pick up rubbish, simple on the surface, but rooted in something much deeper.
With male suicide continuing to rise across the UK, and isolation being a leading factor, what weāre building matters. Community resilience sits at the heart of what we do, alongside emotional intelligence and nervous system regulation.
Despite an unexpected two-hour spell of rain after a long dry stretch, and the closure of Orwell Bridge due to a tragic accident, ten men showed up anyway, no excuses, just brotherhood in motion.
With PPE provided by
@wickes in Ipswich, we got to work, and by the end, weād collected 10 bags. But more than that, we built connection, purpose, and belonging.
Afterwards, we headed back to the
@chipcic for some well-earned snacks, laughs, and real conversation.
At
@mkmcic weāre not just talking about change, weāre embodying it.
A huge thank you to
@lifeatwickes and their team for helping make this possible and supporting a cleaner, safer community.
Weāll be back out next month for more community activities. So, if If youāve been watching from the sidelines, feeling like somethingās missing, this might be your sign.
Come and be part of something real.
