It is one of our greatest joys to see you all see yourselves in this work—to see your presence celebrated and reflected in the spaces we curate, the art we create, the stories we tell. You’re not just our audience, you are our inspiration.
And this is what we mean by representation. It’s an invitation to consider that your life too—in all its glory, ordinariness, and imperfection—could be interpreted as something beautiful. A journey worth remembering. A life worth mirroring.

2018–until. Some miracles are years in the making—and wow, what a journey this one’s been. From our first exhibit seven years ago to now, Black Girl Miracle has become more than we ever imagined. It’s a story only God could have penned. We are grateful, and, we’re still only beginning.
Swipe through for a glimpse of our history and share one of your favorite BGM memories with us in the comments below! 💘

Storytelling is one of our pillars at Black Girl Miracle—a practice we return to again and again. It’s how we make meaning from the fragments of our lives—the things we long for, cherish, or fail to find language for. And when we forget, stories help us remember who we are and where we come from.
Over the years, we’ve been entrusted with so many of your sacred stories. It’s been one of our greatest honors to steward them—to witness you brave your past, reckon with reality, and recognize glory even in your mundane.
All this to say, thank you for trusting us all this while. We can’t wait to share more with you as we enter this next chapter together. ✨

Hey there. We know it’s been a little quiet around here lately. So much has shifted over the last year—within BGM, the world, and maybe within you, too. God has been kind and we’re grateful for the invitation to pause, reset, and dream toward our next.
Black Girl Miracle began in 2018 as a testimony, a prayer, a tender, weak yes and a commitment to preserving the beauty, dignity, and witness of Black women and girls.
Since then, we’ve gathered, we’ve celebrated, we’ve learned, mourned, healed, evolved. And now—seven years later—we’re building again.
Welcome to the next part of our journey. We’ve so much to share with you in the days ahead, friends.
Stay close. 💌

welcome to the grand opening (and closing 😂) of common grounds café—where friends gather, stories brew, and every exchange is steeped in love. for one day only, i turned my home into a day-to-night coffee shop and invited my community to slow down, settle in, and stay awhile 🫶🏾
biggest s/o to @aggiesmobilecafe for keeping the drinks flowing + @jhana_ray for the homemade treats 🥹

2024 marks ten years since i first, truly gave my heart to Jesus—a tithe on what i hope to be a lifetime of understanding and knowing Him.
about this journey, my pastor once told me: “if you’re not in it for love, you won’t be in it for long. but if you’re in it for love, you’ll be in it forever.”
and though i’m still a long way from forever, i can say i’ve found this to be true. love has beckoned me to peer into the face of God—the clearest mirror there is—and allow Him to make me into a woman i wouldn’t have had the courage to become. love has given me power to decline every one of regret’s invitations to believe another gospel, a less costly one; to be applauded for a caricature of Christian living where no one but God knows that i’ve actually refused Him. love has grounded me through life’s highs and lows. it’s contextualized my story. it’s made my life more beautiful, more fun, more vivid, and every moment—good or bad—worth savoring. all because He found my little life worth saving—from destruction, from aimless pursuits, from myself.

i took a short trip to celebrate and reflect on the milestone, but honestly think i’ll make an annual thing of this solo retreat. ✨

Still living in the memory of our latest About-Face workshop. From the bottom of our hearts — thank you to every woman for your openness and willingness to show up so honestly in a room full of strangers (that hopefully felt a little more like family in the end 🩷).
And, a SPECIAL thank you to the team that made it possible: @tracescollective , our favorite photographer; @momentswithmyrak for capturing content for the event; @sprigandbriecharcuterie for our delicious spread; @zuriestudio for the beautiful venue; and @womanatthewellness + @amaraokpalaoka for volunteering their time to ensure the workshop ran smoothly from beginning to end. 🩷🩷🩷
