Metamorphosis explores the transformation of living form into new visual language. Two extinct Huia birds are reimagined in an array of glossy geometric abstractions, caught between nature, memory, and imagination.
The work reflects on our ongoing desire to reconnect with and preserve what once existed through storytelling, symbolism, and art. It also mirrors my own evolution as an artist, moving from realism toward abstraction; Translating what I see and experience into shape, texture, and movement.
