Weeks posts
If you missed my last two posts, let me get you up to speed real quick ~ quick like a bullet train which is relevant because about a year ago I went digging through old travel photos and found some gold in the form of long-exposure photos shot from high speed trains in Germany, Denmark and Japan and I’ve spent the past year restoring these images and making sure they print really nicely and they do indeed print nicely and now you can buy these nice images as framed prints to make your home or someone else’s home or your office or your boat or tour bus or train if you have a train which would be weird but appropriate and where was I oh yes, these abstract photography prints are something I’ve put a lot of work into and so I hope you like them or even like-like them and please stop by @ChillaryPrintStudio to have a little shop around or send @ChillaryPrintStudio to someone who might really like abstract long-exposure photography prints shot from high speed trains and these are my favourite three but what are your favourite three and that about catches you up!

Oh hi. I realised I forgot to tell you about something pretty coool.
About a year ago I had the smarts to dig through some travel photos to see if there’s any good stuff. And you’ll never believe this, but I found some good stuff. Specifically, I uncovered a series of long-exposure photos I captured during a high speed train journey from Berlin to Copenhagen in 2023. And after scrounging around a bit more, I discovered another series of long-exposure photos captured during a Shinkansen journey from Tokyo to Kyoto a year later. Over the past six months, I’ve been restoring those images, cleaning window spots and enhancing the colours and now those photos are available as framed prints through @ChillaryPrintStudio ~ chillary.co/printstudio You guys, I’m trying to tell you that **hold for applause** I’m an Artist now. In this post are the prints from the series Shinkansen, in the previous post is the series DeutscheBahn. I really hope you like them. I’ve put a lot of work into making sure every piece is of the highest quality and lives up to my very fussy standards. So if you’ve been staring at a blank space on your wall in your beautiful home, wondering what could possibly make it less blank, I think you should stop by Chillary Print Studio. If your video conference background is a bit bland, it’s time to spice up your meetings with a big ol’ print from Chillary Print Studio. Maybe your office needs a slice of the Danish countryside? Chillary Print Studio. If you’re not in the market for abstract photography art, you can help in other ways. Every comment, share, and repost could find its way to someone who is looking for abstract photography prints shot from high speed trains, so thanks in advance for doing what you can. Share it with your local tastemakers. Rave about it to your barista. Whisper “Lebendig by Chillary Print Studio” to a stranger on the 96. Send this post to every Interior Designer you know (and I know that you know that we all know at least 7 Interior Designers). Thanks for taking the time to read this and check out @ChillaryPrintStudio and I can’t wait to read all your DMs about calling myself an Artist. 👨🏼‍🎨

The who, what, when, where, why strategy can be a powerful marketing tool if implemented correctly. And in the case of @MaxibonAus latest campaign, I think we’ve spawned a scientifically perfect 5W atrocity. People will see the Go Full Cookie campaign and be left asking:
Who is responsible for this confusingly delicious and maybe a little sexy abomination? What am I looking at? Like seriously, what is it? A cookie man? A man cookie? A delicious man cookie? When am I going to stop seeing delicious man cookie every time I close my eyes? Where can I buy a Maxibon Choc Chip Cookie? And if I buy one will this stop haunting me? Why? Just… why? Why this? Why did you do this to my eyeballs? Why me? Why is anything? Clear the awards cabinet, team. We’ve only gone and perfected Marketing with this one. Thanks to Siobhan and Leonie for bringing this monstrosity into my life and for trusting me to bring him into the world. The brief was for a Mighty Boosh-adjacent, appetising and cheeky campaign that would leave viewers confused, hungry and a little bit in love with Trevor the man who went full cookie. Massive thanks to @Sharp_FX for building the incredible body suit and crafting the facial prosthetics and makeup. Nick Livingston for producing the shit out this one and Jordan Loveday for bringing so much joy, sauciness and sass to this character. 🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪 Client: @Maxibonaus Agency: @SickDogWolfMan CD: @jimmyorrsome CD: @wheelswordsmith AD: Leonie Duff CW: Siobhan Joffe Producer: Nick Livingston Photography: @Chillary Retouching: @gabi.hughes.retoucher Assistant: @alexpomnikow Talent: @Jordan._.loveday Prosthetics / Makeup: @Sharp_fx Shot at: @kasabi.studios Motion: @Revolver.ws

Comedy Festival starts TOMORROW. So here are a few last images to inspire you to fill up your calendar with laughter. Finally, we have @melaniebracewell - Dilly Dallying Yes, I saved this one for last, sharing it mere hours before the festival begins because I too was *hold for suspense* … dilly dallying. Totally worth it. Collaborating with Mel was as ideal as I’d hoped it would be. It’s always a joy to see her on the telly, hear her on a podcast or catch her live. And working with her was equally as joyful. She came to me with the great idea that she’d been dilly dallying on the poster itself. We tried a bunch of different visuals on that theme before landing on a shot of Mel taking a break from painting the backdrop and at that point the poster just shot itself really. You’ve left it late enough, grab a ticket to see @melaniebracewell do some Dilly Dallying at @maxwattsvenue / Melbourne Town Hall from March 26th ~ April 19th Photography / Retouching: @Chillary Poster Design: @haiminh_ H&MU: @Monicapmakeup Management: Bec & Bianca @ Jubilee St Shot at @kindredcameras

Comedy Festival starts TOMORROW. So here are a few last images to inspire you to fill up your calendar with laughter. Next up is the iconic Pete Helliar with the image for his show An International Kerfuffle - a show about how one poorly-timed punchline can set off a chain reaction of headlines around the world. The brief was relatively simple. Make it look like he’s been dragged through a self-inflicted multi-day existential crisis. Relatable stuff. I love creating images with Pete. He really knows what he wants and commits to pushing himself to micro adjust his facial expressions until the perfect frame is in the can. You can watch @pjhelliar perform An International Kerfuffle at @acmionline from April 7th ~ 19th Also, happy 30th @melbcomedyfestival Pete! Comedy Festival starts TOMORROW. So here’s a few last images to inspire you to fill up your calendar with laughter. Starting with Fergus Neal - Boy, Inside The Algorithm. Looksmaxxing. Manosphere. Mogging. These are all super fun things that are being served up to the modern boy on a never-ending digital platter. Thankfully our hero, @fergie_ferg1 is here to decipher, deconstruct and torch the insanity with his manly comedy stylings. We had a lot of chaotic ideas for this poster, but after a few minutes in the studio, it was clear, this simple image of Ferg being joyfully absorbed by the online choas was the winner. Today’s theme is comedy posters that I helped come up with the concept for. Last but certainly not least, we have @marenmayofficial with her show Why Haven’t You Listened To That Song I Sent You? A very reasonable question for anyone who’s ever made a mixtape, burnt a CD or collated a playlist for someone you like or even like like. To keep the music theme, Maren wanted the poster to lean aesthetically towards an album cover. The story that we wanted to tell was that Maren had just come home after meeting someone and stayed up until the early hours obsessing over making them a collection of songs she thinks they would like. As this was supposed to look like an album, I wanted to get out of the studio and shoot on location, and thankfully Marty at Puffin was hospitable enough to let us smoke totally real cigarettes near all of his very flammable and totally irreplaceable mid century furniture. Now, why haven’t you booked tickets to see @marenmayofficial perform WHYLTTSISY at @storyvillemelbourne from April 7th ~ 19th during @melbcomedyfestival Photography / Retouching: @Chillary Director: @rose.y.bishop Shot at: @puffin_post

Today’s theme is comedy posters that I helped come up with the concept for. Next up is Aaqib Merchant and his poster image for Is Not Uber Man. The underlying through line of @merchantofcomedy ’s show revolves around being far from the Übermensch (the ideal man of the future) (sorry can’t relate). And during our first conversation, Aaqib mentioned that one of his jokes is abound getting scammed for sending a d**k pic. This lead to us going down the track of what if we flipped the idea, and instead presented Aaqib as if he were an exemplary human. An exhibition-worthy specimen. An human work of art, presented in a gallery space on a plinth and with a plaque and everything. And of course, what if we took it further and showed this man exhibition at his lowest point; being caught taking a d**k pic. Classy stuff. You can catch the not so Uber Man at @thecharlesdickenstavern from March 26th ~ April 5th Photography / Retouching: @Chillary Producer: @jezwattscomedy Poster Design: @mattoneillthunderbastard Shot at @kindredcameras

Today’s theme is comedy posters that I helped come up with the concept for. First up is the wonderful @gabbiboltofficial with images for her new show, Small Poppy. From evening concept calls in the supermarket parking lot to her heartwarming voice memos of appreciation, Gabbi’s attention to detail and shared obsessions over slightly different shades of red made this such a dream collaboration from start to finish. We started with thoughts including her engulfed in vines of poppy, and a crown made from pappies. From there we simplified and evolved the visual to be more empowering - Gabbi chopping down a tall poppy. Once we were in the studio and Gabbi was looking the part thanks to @kahliimorrison_mua we got to work nailing the pose with inspiration from the one woman hype squad that is @Gem_Caro . Oh, and the perfect prop saw that @milkeproducer just had lying around the house. I made sure to capture some plates of actual poppies while we were there, followed by a costume change and some additional promo shots to boot. Then I disappeared into Photoshop for a minute and threw it all together. Like I said, an absolute dream. Catch the Small Poppy herself, @gabbiboltofficial performing her new hour of musical comedy at @malthousetheatre from March 26th ~ April 19th Photography / Retouching: @Chillary H&MU: @kahliimorrison_mua Producer: @milkeproducer Hype / Assistance: @Gem_Caro Shot at @kindredcameras
