Thoroughly enjoyed today, thank you my love for making today extra special! Love the quiet bonding of doing this together, the joy of completing an art piece is indescribably satisfying. Especially grateful of how far we've both come, so thankful to God for the restoration, healing, provision & favor on this past 1 year, September no longer felt so heavy, but instead it's full of joy & hope! The story continues and I don't take for granted a single moment of our journey! ❤️

Thank you everyone for responding to our story, reaching out to us and loving on us. We were a bit hesitant initially whether to share our story publicly, one hand we hope our story can help shed light on anyone suffering from loss, but the other hand we felt it's too personal, so we were not sure if we should post about it.
On the day we lost baby Emma, I had a vision of her running the streets of gold with a rainbow freely, I told Jackie about it and amazingly we had the chance to paint the vision on Emma's casket, it almost felt like we're preparing her room, and Jackie painted the most beautiful picture on Emma's casket. Fast forward few days ago when we were deciding whether to post our story while driving to meet my family for dinner, watch to the end of the video to see what showed up on the sky, it's a rainbow with the clouds looking like the streets of gold, it's like Emma reaching out to us saying, " Daddy Mummy, go ahead and share my story" It was such a beautiful moment, we wipe our tears and decided, yes we should share our story! We miss you Emma! You are still changing people's life, we love ❤️ you!
“We’re sorry… the baby won’t make it.”
“Sir we need you to rush back to the ICU, your wife is in critical condition.”
“She has septic shock… she’s not responding.”
These were just some of the moments that shattered our world. After 20+ days in the hospital, a near-death experience for Jackie, we lost baby Emma. Hopelessness was the right word that could sum up the end of 2024 for us. But even in our pain, we began to heal.
If Christianity was mere religion, we would’ve been crushed. But eternity became real for us—and knowing Emma is with Jesus gave us strength to live on with hope. And if church was just a social group, we’d have isolated ourselves and walked away. But instead, we were surrounded with love, support, prayers, and most importantly the challenge to rise stronger. Painful and hard as it was, I found my praise again through serving, and my broken heart had the courage to believe again.
Through this season, I was called to write two Mandarin Christian songs—one praise, one worship—Impossible as it seem, it was born from this experience. I'm so grateful Emma’s legacy now lives on through it. We choose to praise even in the shadow of death. God’s love, shown through the crown of thorns, heals and frees.
No we don’t have it all figured out, but we choose to believe in God’s loving nature. If you’re reading this and you're facing your own storm, know this: you are not alone. God loves you deeply, and His peace is for you. Reach out if you need to, there is hope and peace that surpasses your own understanding. That's the true meaning of Easter!

Thank you Festival Film Malaysia FFM33, it was a fun night celebrating our industry. We didn't win yet again but I think to be able to be nominated out of 96 films and be the top 5 finalist is already an honor! Thank you Abang Haris and Tunku Mona again for entrusting your film to us, a toast to more life changing films in near future. Many reacted to @jackie_jieqi story about us watching movie here in Japan, let me do justice to why this is one the highlight of my trip (can already feel Jackie 🙄)
First of all, thank you Geoffry from Dolby South East Asia office for this wonderful treat! Geoff was the one responsible in advising and auditing my studio to comply with Dolby certification spec, super technical but yet humble and helpful friend, thanks Geoff!
Here we go, there's currently about 300 Dolby Cinema screens globally, Japan is 1 of few located in Asia. While IMAX has bigger screen, Dolby Cinema has way better contrast ratio and bigger resolution with Dolby Vision laser projection, the absolute black is so good! It's equipped with Dolby Atmos with full Dolby speakers with perfect calibration, you can tell with the Dolby opening feature video, the immersive experience is just indescribably amazing! In short, Dolby Cinema is one of the most premium cinema theater you can find in the market.
Tho I may not really enjoyed the creative plot and the mix of Gladiator 2, (Gladiator 1 is one of my all time favorite), watching this genre in Dolby cinema is really a treat. I bet it's every sound mixer's dream to have their work play in this cinema because you must fully comply with the Dolby mixing spec, the headroom and dynamic range for the mix is simply such dream room to play around with. (lalalala boringggg)
Last but not least, watching movie in Japan can be quite stressful, one of the opening PSA tells you to not make any noise (eating, laughing and reaction all included), also tells you to not have your phone & watch lit up (I was literally covering my watch in my heat tech), but 1 thing I like is everyone one watch the film to the last frame after all the credit is rolled, rolling credit is part of the film 🤝 So is it worth it watching a film in Dolby Cinema? 10000%
This trip felt kinda surreal, after all the roller coaster in the past 2 months, for @jackie_jieqi to even be alive is really such a big miracle. So blessed to be able to hold her in my arms and continue our life journey exploring the world together. Beyond all the heartaches I'm simply grateful that we live another day to tell the story of how we overcome.
"The devil comes only to kill steal & destroy, I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest", season like this it's easy to feel it the other way round, but we were reminded to identify who the real enemy was, and that we grieve from the right place and posture. And really in times like this, it is the reality of eternity that keep us hopeful & sane. I miss my little bundle of joy so so much every single day, there is so many what if that flash through my mind, but I know I will see you again one day, and the reunion is gonna be so beautiful! So live better, love harder, life is fragile on this end.

Before the day ends, I wanna wish the love of my life @jackie_jieqi a happy happy 40th birthday! Really love the saying of 40s is the new 20s, firstly you do look 20s 😆 but most importantly you're stepping into this milestone with so much grace, wisdom & generosity. I really believe 40s is a totally brand new season of our lives, I'm so excited for what's ahead of us and what God is about to do, the best is yet to come! I love you so much ❤️
