Hello family and friends. Someone I love very deeply is going through something that can only be described as horribly devastating! My friend Denise, the wife of one of my best friends in this world Nick Loren... was diagnosed with breast cancer and it's now at stage 4! Her insurance has ceased helping with her treatments, and my friends and their children, tho still fighting this, are quickly running out of resources.
If any of you have gone through something like this, or know someone who has, then you understand what it's like to be in this horrible position. I'm asking that, if you're so inclined, please help! Anything... no matter how large or small will help!

I just got knocked for a loop! A few minutes ago I found out that Sly Stone passed earlier today!
Sly had so much to do with who I am musically. Not in the sense that I emulated him, but more so in the sense that for me, he was the first black male artist whose lyrics spoke to my young heart! Long before I ever picked up any musical instrument, I wanted to be like Sly! Cool ... eloquent... strong, but not overbearing. Comfortable and confident in his own skin... and a smile that would light up any room!
Not long after I started producing records I got a call from a friend who introduced me to a guy he called "Clayton". "Clayton" needed to get into a recording studio and work on some ideas. As I found out later when "Clayton" arrived at my house, he was actually Sly Stone. Sly obviously wanted to remain incognito so I gave him that space, but OMG was my head SPINNING during those few hours we worked together!
I never saw him again after that day, but the memory of that day stands sooo crystal clear in my mind! It was one of those days when I shared the pure joy of making music with one of my childhood heroes!

Took a second trip back to Thailand to look into some other business endeavors. It's been very successful so far! I've made some wonderful, likely lifetime friendships. Definitely falling in love with this place!
Correction: We're in Maesot, Thailand. Just left Chiang Mai. It's such a beautiful morning. I'm having such an amazing and life altering trip here exploring, meeting new people, seeing new places, and learning sooo much!
