Money was never meant to only pass through your hands, it was meant to build, multiply, impact, and create legacy. This session was more than financial advice; it was a call to intentional living, stewardship, wisdom and becoming. From delayed gratification to building passive income, from faith to financial excellence, every word reminded us that true wealth is not appearance, it is stability, purpose and impact. Your future is not built by chance. It is built by the decisions you make daily. #TheBecomingCircle #Becoming #FinancialFreedom #IntentionalLiving #WomenAndWealth KingdomStewardship LegacyBuilding PurposeDrivenLife

The Job Nobody Wanted, Built The Career Everyone Admires. When I started my youth service at a Commercial Bank, my NYSC colleagues were scrambling for back office positions. Safe and Comfortable. But I chose Sales. Not because I was fearless. But because I was hungry. Sales was seen as the role nobody should want, why? a lot of pressure, too much accountability etc , But something in me understood, even then, that the road everyone avoids is usually the road worth taking and I was restless to find out . I opened accounts with turnovers that surprised my colleagues then, they did not expect a corper to achieve that kind of mileage. Years later, at another Commercial Bank, there was a unit in Apapa that was struggling. Nobody wanted it. They asked me if I would take it. I said yes. I went in, committed it to God,engaged on a one on one with the customers, understood their pains, their constraints, what they actually needed. Before long, things began to turn around. And the unit delivered outstanding numbers , and some of those customers I met about 18 years ago are still my customers till date. That's exactly what the difficult terrain gives you, roots and Relationships that outlast the role. And again I was assigned to the least profitable division in another bank . A more senior colleague had sat on it and not moved the needle. Another came and had to leave. I was way younger than them when I stepped into the role. People questioned me. Wondering Why I would agree to take that role. I prayed first. Then I went in. Made difficult decisions, had to let some staff go , recruited new staff who understood the vision and assignment . We built a solid team and in 18 months, the region made profit for the first time ever. That role earned me a promotion. And the rest, they say, is history. I share these stories because I watch young professionals today who consistently choose the SOFT LIFE, the safe department, the less demanding role, the assignment with no real risk. And I understand the logic. Why sign up for difficulty when you can sign up for comfort? CONTINUED IN THE COMMENT SECTION

The Most Expensive Mistake!!!Choosing the Paycheck Over the Path. I have intentionally taken a salary cut twice in my career. Neither move was forced , both were driven by conviction.Looking back, those two decisions were the most profitable investments I ever made not in my bank account, but in my career equity. The "Boxed-In" Paycheck. The first time, I was in a role that paid me well. On paper, I was successful. But internally, I could see the ceiling. I was trading my future influence for current comfort. So, when an opportunity arrived that offered less money but a seat at the table, I took it. I traded cash for visibility, a voice, and a team. I chose to be in a room where my name would finally travel to places I hadn't entered yet. The "Growth" Pivot: The second time, I moved because I needed more knowledge, more exposure, and a different kind of pressure to sharpen my skills. The new role offered a smaller paycheck but a steeper learning curve. I went. I traded immediate liquidity for long-term capability. The "Salary Chase" a Trap I watch so many brilliant professionals especially in the banking sector leap from one organization to another, chasing a 20% or 30% raise like it’s the only metric on the scorecard or chasing the next level . I understand the pressure. Inflation is real. Responsibilities are heavy. But salary alone is an incomplete measure of a good career move. If you move only for money, you might find yourself as a "well-paid passenger" on a ship going nowhere. The 5 Questions That Matter More Than the Numbers: The Growth Audit: Will I grow here? Not just in title, but in the "muscle" of my craft. A role that stretches your capacity is worth more than one that pays you to stay stagnant. The Visibility Factor: Will my work be seen? In your "Visibility Season," being in a place where your contributions have an audience is a currency that builds a legacy. The Voice Test: Can you lead, influence, and drive outcomes? Or are you just buying a more expensive set of "golden handcuffs"? The Culture Cost: A toxic environment at a higher salary is a net loss. Your peace of mind and mental health have a price tag that no bonus can cover.

At The Becoming Circle, Chetachi Okechukwu (@chetwithgrace ) shifted our perspective on wealth from mere accumulation to purposeful influence. She reminded us that in our forties, financial freedom is deeply rooted in our spiritual mindset - when we prioritize giving as a form of worship, we become conduits through which resources can flow for the advancement of God’s kingdom. As she profoundly noted, true prosperity isn't a one-time win but a legacy built through the consistency of diversifying income and budgeting every spend to ensure we control our money rather than letting the lack of it control us. Taking her insights into practical action, she challenged us to perform a radical audit of our lives - putting our real numbers, assets, and liabilities before us without the mask of our professional titles. Ultimately, intentional financial living in our forties is a daily choice that requires us to be mindful of our habits even during our "wilderness" moments. We must be willing to make the necessary sacrifices now to secure the peace we desire for our later years. As we reflect on her words, we carry this powerful charge with us: "The life you want tomorrow must cost you something today." #FortiesSpeak #TheBecomingCircle #FinancialFreedom #WomenInTheirForties #FaithAndFinance Wealth Building IntentionalLiving
