E85 update! After a week of testing, tweaking, and daily-driving, we got our i30N DCT on the dyno to find the limits of the factory injectors. We weren't able to get the car to happily make more than 20psi before we felt that the injectors were really maxed out. The good news with this, though, is it means that these results should be more or less repeatable with a fairly unmodified car (i.e. downpipe and high-pressure fuel pump) In terms of fuel economy, putting it on the dyno really killed our numbers, using ~1/5 of a tank while one the dyno. Prior to the dyno we were at ~30 litres used, and 224km travelled, giving us a fuel economy figure of 13.4 litres per 100km, or 31.6c per km at today's E85 price. After the dyno we went and filled up with some VP Racing Fuels E85 from our local servo, where we put in 39.53 litres of E85 ($2.359 per litre). Having travelled a total of 240.2km, this gives us fuel economy numbers of 16.4 litres per 100km, or 38.8c per km. To put this in perspective, if you average 11L per 100km on 98RON, then you'll get about 360km from 40L, and if it's $2.75 a Litre (like it was earlier in the week) then you're getting 30.2c per km... So, myth busted in terms of this being a viable cost savings measure but what about how it drives? In truth, it's the same as running 98RON... Other than a slightly longer crank on cold start, and smelling much better, you'd never know it was running ethanol. When we ran out of injection on the E85, we turned the water/meth system back on, and got a little more out of it - but we ultimately had to draw the line somewhere, and decided to stop at just a touch over 21psi with the water meth system turned on.

We've had a bit of bouncing around recently, and haven't been able to use our Dyno for a couple of months, but we finally have keys to a new workshop in Clyde (near Granville/Parramatta) While we're moving, there will be periods of time where our phones will be off, and there will be extended delays on replying to messages and emails. Please be patient with us while we get set up in our new shop and we can get back into the swing of things in early Feb.

We hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a Fantastic New Years! This year was a bit of a rollercoaster for Cherry Tuning, with lots of massive changes, and more changes to come, but we're excited to see what 2026 brings us! We're still open for the rest of this week, and anyone with workshop bookings in the week of the 6th, we'll be in contact with you to give you alternative means of contacting us during the shutdown - as we will still keep your bookings. Stay safe on the roads over the break, and we'll see everyone next year!

Putting some head studs in this Stinger motor. With the twin G25 turbos and WMI we should be able to make some strong power! We hit 617BHP and 768Nm (at the fly) before the factory head bolts decided they'd had enough... Hopefully now we can hit 700HP!

May as well call us Cherry Tuning and Quad Tips at this point 🤣 We aren't sure if it was due to an internal mix-up or perhaps xForce sent us the wrong thing... but with some extra time, effort, creative use of exhaust hangers, and a bit of careful cutting, we were able to get this Cerato GT catback fitted to the customer's i30 Sedan N-Line! Turns out they had always wanted quad tips, but didn't think it was possible! So it turns out this was a happy accident for this customer, haha. If you want quad tips on your car, we almost certainly can make something work, just be mindful that extra fab work and modification to the body takes extra time (and money). But where there's a will, there's a way! @xforceexhaust XForce Performance Exhaust

Yesterday we posted a photo of the quad-tip non-valved xForce on our i30N DCT, and lots of people wanted a video... so here you go! The phone microphone really doesn't do this any justice, in person it sounds a lot deeper and it honestly sounds awesome when cruising, super deep with a nice bark to it under boost - without being particularly loud. It's actually a little quieter than the stock catback with the downpipe on the car, but that's what we were going for! The pops aren't stock on this car, btw... this car is a development vehicle and gets a new file every few days to test things out (like pops) - these pops are faster than stock, but actually turned down a little in terms of aggression. What do you guys think, should we see if xForce can make this into a kit? @xforceexhaust XForce Performance Exhaust

Thoughts on the quad-tip setup on the i30N? It's a bit of a mish-mash of xForce parts, but we can possibly get xForce to turn this into a kit if people are keen to cut their bumpers for the quad-tip look? It's also one of the deepest sounding Ns we've ever heard, even if the valves are removed now. It mixes together perfectly a sedate cruising volume with an aggressive tone under load, which is basically exactly what Tristan was looking for out of the car! @xforceexhaust #xforce #nonvalved #i30n
