It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that our lease is up at the end of August. Our land lord informed us that they thought “our initial art gallery concept would be a good fit for the space/neighborhood but it morphed into something else and it’s not working out so well for the neighborhood.”
(Note that we stopped doing shows at their behest in March, and have only been doing art events since then, with the exception of last night, where we followed their desire for only 49 people at a time in the space)
We feel outraged that they presume to know what is good for the neighborhood and our community. We invite you to send them an email, expressing what Cherry Pit has meant to you. We especially would like them to hear from the youth in our scene, folks who live /work in the CD, parents, and musicians and artists.
We don’t assume they will be swayed, but we think it’s important they understand the positive impact our all ages space has had on the neighborhood, and Seattle in general. Please share widely. We love you💔

It’s with heavy hearts, that we have to announce the closure of Cherry Pit for now. Until we can increase our official level of occupancy, all shows will be canceled, starting tonight. We will be reaching out to all the bands we’ve booked till August, in the next couple of days. Please be patient with us ❤️
