Bello friends! It’s been over a year since I was last here. Here are some makes from last year ❤️
I haven’t really made anything in a while for a few reasons.
Excessive knitting gave me pain that still flares up every now and then (maybe arthritis or tendonitis), and I just didn’t listen when my body was telling me to slow down. (If ur a knitter or crocheter, DO YOUR STRETCHES AND REST YOUR HANDS SOMETIMES!!)
For the longest time I thought I had creators block but honestly I was just overwhelmed and tired.
Creating has always been the thing that makes me feel alive. For a long time, I tied my worth to what I was putting out into the world so when I stopped I felt guilty. I felt behind. I felt like I was wasting potential. I even made things I didn’t want to, and it brought me no joy.
I want to share this message with you if you’re a struggling creative.
Sometimes the most honest thing you can do is rest, just being here is enough. The world is heavy. Life is heavy and it’s ok if your focus right now is just getting through the day.
There will always be room to start again

Here’s my first creation of this year: a Last Splash inspired top which I wore to The Breeders concert in January ❤️ It was made using a combination of machine-knit and hand embroidery.
