ānard nationā is a funny phrase my brothers coined 2ish years ago (ānardā like āChenardā), and itās stuck with me as a design idea ever since. I finally executed some hats this year for Christmas by way of patches so they could both have the specific hat styles they prefer.
This is a Patagonia-esque font as a nod to the founder of Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard (the original French spelling of our name but not related as far as we know), and I wanted a classic, vintage color palette that worked with both hats.
Only ball caps were available for embroidery in small batches so patches allowed further customization, and I chose hats that fit their personalities. A five-panel hat for Evan and a hybrid trucker/vintage ball cap style for Matthew.
(+ Motherbird had a blank LLBean tote so of course we decorated it too)

28 teams from across the country completed over 200 races, run by the amazing Greenwich Bay Sailing Association and East Greenwich Yacht Club RC lead by PRO Justin Assad. All in all, competitors were treated to great conditions, an amazing Italian feast following day one of racing, and informative college night where competitors spoke with coaches of over 10 different college sailing programs.
Started in 2003, the regatta was named in honor of CJ Buckley, a talented Rhode Island sailor and a fierce competitor at GBSA and Tabor Academy who lost his battle with brain cancer at 17. CJ was partial to team racing ā the challenge, the strategy and the excitement-like a game of chess on the water. So each year for the last 22 years, the Club 420 class has come together with the help of volunteers, parents, and sailors to team race our hearts out, all in the spirit of our friend CJ š«¶š»
HUGE Thank you to all the competitors, parents and volunteers for their effort!

C420 Nationals: 148 boats, 3 days of racing, and tons of fun!
The largest event on the 2025 calendar is in the booksš Sailors got a range of conditions over three days at @hyannisyc_sailing ā the first two days started light, with a long postponement in the morning on day one. On the final day, the fleet was split into silver and gold just in time for some true Hyannis weather āĀ an epic seabreeze š Three races were sailed in gold and two were sailed in silver.
Event winners Caleb Everett and JP Panebianco remained consistent despite the varying conditions, winning three of the eight races with only two races outside the top five.

This set was drafted early 2020 for college nationals that were set to take place that year in New Orleans at Tulane. I still really dig the tipped fleur de lis serving as a wave for the 420/FJ.
Tulane finally hosted the postponed championship in 2022 but by then their art department decided to produce the logo in-house and incorporate their mascot. So this got scrapped but Iāll always like it.
