After three days of watching the rain from our window, the Dolomites finally decided to show off, so we packed four iconic landmarks into one sun-drenched marathon.
Here is how to spend 24 hours in peak heaven👇🏽
🌅 Alpe di Siusi at sunrise is truly magical. There is nothing quite like watching the light hit the peaks while wild horses roam the meadows. It’s worth the early wake-up call.
🚠 Seceda is the most iconic ridge line in the area. It’s roughly 50 USD per person to visit this place. It’s a bit of a splurge, but your knees will thank you, and the views are worth every cent. We explored as much of the ridge as possible before heading back down.
🌲 Adolf Munkel Trail in Val di Funes might have been one of our favorite hikes. This trail takes you right to the base of the Odle peaks. Spend some time at the Refugio—it’s a thousand times better when you can actually sit outside and soak in the sun.
🌇 Santa Madalena is the beta spot for sunset! It gets incredibly crowded with photographers, so don’t be afraid to keep walking until you find a private patch of grass to end the night.
The weather here is famously moody, but when the sun finally decides to show up, there is truly no place on earth like it. 🏔️✨

The best day trip from Venice! So much more to the lagoon than people realize!
📌 SAVE for an easy Venice day trip itinerary!
⛴️ Getting There: Head to the Fondamente Nove (F. Nove) pier on the north side of Venice. Look for Vaporetto Line 12. This is the “Lagoon Express” that hits all three islands in a nice, logical loop.
🎟️ Do yourself a favor and buy a 24-hour ACTV pass for €25.
⏱️ Start early! Aim to leave by 9:00 AM. You’ll need about 6 to 7 hours to see all three islands without feeling like you’re in a marathon.
✨ Murano: The island of glass. It’s been the world capital of glass-blowing since the 13th century. Pop into a factory for a live demo—watching a master turn a molten blob into a delicate horse in 60 seconds is pure magic.
🌈 Burano: famous for its neon-colored houses and handmade lace. It’s the ultimate photo op. Grab a Bussolà (the local butter cookie) while you wander the canals.
🌿 Torcello: Just a 5-minute hop from Burano, but it feels like the edge of the world. It’s the oldest inhabited part of the lagoon. Go for the 7th-century mosaics in the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta and the “Attila’s Throne” stone chair in the square.

⏱️ The park is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.

🔭 The Overlook Trail (Easy): 1 mile roundtrip. It’s relatively flat and takes about 30 minutes, leading you to the park’s most iconic canyon vistas.
💦 Waterfalls Trail (Strenuous): 2 miles roundtrip. This one takes about 45–90 minutes because it involves a 600-step staircase to reach Cherokee and Hemlock Falls.
🔄 West Rim Loop (Moderate): 5 miles roundtrip. Takes 3–4 hours for this hike that hugs the canyon rim.
