The ultimate way to celebrate the Girl Child isn’t with one day. It’s by building a world where she no longer needs a day of remembrance.
When equality, safety, education, and opportunity become rights shared by all, every day becomes the Day of the Girl Child.
Happy International Day of the Girl Child.

We had light in our hands … until river blindness took hold of our sight. We had our children … until they were kidnapped by sleeping sickness.”
Half a billion people in sub-Saharan Africa are trapped in the cycle of neglected tropical diseases, or NTDs. These diseases steal futures, silence dreams, and hold communities hostage. But this cycle must end.
Through poetry that transcends borders, performance poet Che Joy weaves English and French to amplify the voices of the forgotten. Raising awareness is not just important, it is urgent.
No child should be born into a system where their future is stolen by disease. No mother should script her child’s struggle before they take their first breath. We must act, speak, and demand change.
Let’s break free. Let’s #EscapeTheNeglect.
Share this message. Raise your voice. The time for action is now.
This series is produced by @truemyvoice in collaboration with Devex @devex_com and the Gates Foundation, @gatesfoundation to amplify the voices of those affected by NTDs.

This year I age with grace,
I age in influence and affluence,
I age in dominance,
In purpose and power,
I multiply everything I touch.
Happy Birthday to CJ!!💙
Mothers will climb mountains you never see and still come back with enough joy to go around.
This is for every mother who gave everything and never counted the cost.
Save this. Send this. Let her know you see her.
Happy Mother's Day!

A year ago, I stood in a room where history was being made. West Africa’s first state-of-the-art Rapid Diagnostics Test manufacturing facility was being commissioned in Ogun State, and I was honoured to have my voice in that room.
That day I understood something I had only ever written about. That true healthcare is not only found in hospitals. It lives in the systems, the factories, the founders who make it their life’s work to ensure that quality does not have to mean foreign and local does not have to mean less.
Happy 1st anniversary to the visionary at the helm, Dr. Sammy Ogunjimi @sammy_ogunjimi , and the entire @codixpharma family. What you have built in one year is already rewriting what is possible.
Congratulations once again!

Every 8th of March, companies organize elaborate women’s day conferences with surface level themes and pledges to uplift women, however the true test of how “women friendly” any workplace is, can be seen in their systems, policies and processes.
How do you handle sexual assault cases?? Do you push it under the rug? Or do you treat it as the serious offense that it is?
Keep this in mind when thinking of what to do for the next women’s month celebration 🫶🏾
Rap and poetry are such powerful tools for activism and social change and it can be revolutionary when wielded by the right hands ‼️

I admire those who can find joy in the small things. I am in awe of those with the ability to enjoy music, art, food, people, without analyzing what it means to exist in a socio-political landscape like the one we live in.
Some people will tell you joy is easy to write. Our collective experiences say otherwise.
Joy can be itchy to write about when you think of all the unpleasant things happening around you. You may find yourself starting from the wrong place; from pain, from survival, from the dramatic turn. I did. But joy keeps correcting me.
This poem, JOY, is about what happens when you stop measuring good things in teaspoons. Not joy as a destination. Not joy as a reward for suffering enough.
I am full of JOY not because bad things don’t happen to me but because in all the horrors and troubles of the world, I am still able to find these moments of JOY with(in) you.
