Cheim & Read has had the privilege of working with an exceptional group of artists, mounting important exhibitions, and producing scholarly catalogues over the past twenty six years. Our last public exhibition is Kathe Burkhart, which will remain on view in our Chelsea location through December 23rd.
In 2024, longtime gallery director and partner Maria Bueno will open a fine art dealership, Bueno & Co. This enterprise will focus on private sales of works by historical and contemporary masters and will continue to work with the art of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Louise Bourgeois, Lynda Benglis, William Eggleston, Louise Fishman, Ron Gorchov, Joan Mitchell, Alice Neel, Pat Steir, Sean Scully, Andy Warhol, and Matthew Wong.
We are grateful for your support over these many years.
TONIGHT: Please join us for the opening of Kathe Burkhart from 6 - 8 PM at 547 West 25th Street. The exhibition will remain on view through December 23.

WATCH: Exhibition walkthrough with Maureen Dougherty
“I feel very strongly - intensely - and then I use the paint application as that language of sensuality. Yes, there are the undercurrents and underbelly in everything, and I look for contradictions, but ultimately the draw should be the application [of paint].” - Maureen Dougherty
Link in bio for the whole conversation. Visit Borrowed Time at 547 West 25th Street until September 16.
