Cooking Italy is launching across Canada September 6th at 7pm on @tlntv with repeats Sunday’s 8:30pm! This is our most epic cooking adventure yet as @chefcraigharding and @chefrobrossi put their spin on classic traditional recipes while using the freshest local ingredients and meeting amazing artisans. Over 10 episodes the chefs travel across Sardinia, Naples, the Tuscan countryside, Abruzzo and Rome with so many cookouts and incredible dishes! No shortage of Italian restaurants in Toronto. Michelin-starred Osteria Giulia @osteriagiulia opened in 2021 and it is the latest venture by chef-owner @chefrobrossi , renowned for his 2018 hit Giulietta. Giulia, the upscale sister, showcases Ligurian cuisine in a chic setting. Inspired by Liguria, Italy, which is known for its coastline, the menu emphasizes seafood, olive oil dressings and sauces, and flatbreads, particularly focaccia di Recco - a favourite here. Dishes are simple, approachable and unfussy. On the table: 1) Salume tipico - coppa I.G.P, finnochiona, mortadella, ubriaco al prosecco & ciappe liguri 2) Cantabrian anchovies, grilled sourdough & butter 3) Tonno in padella - rare bluefin tuna, wild spring garlic, snap peas, turnips & citrus butter 4) Vitello tonnato - veal carpaccio, albacore tuna, foglie di cappero, lemon & olive oil 👍🏻 5) Focaccia di recco stracchino stuffed Ligurian flatbread, olio novello & sea salt.
