I first want to thank my amazing wife @jess_e07 for always having my back in my culinary journey. I also want to thank @chefzacktrabbold and @natalietrabbold for coming and supporting me here at the final table of the @worldfoodchampionships Although my culinary journey at the final table was cut short, I am extremely proud of the effort and product I created for the opening round. The pain of not advancing can only be used as fuel to come back stronger. To my kids, I’m heartbroken that I failed for you and couldn’t come home as the overall champion. But I know that win or lose I am always your champion. To all of the finalist it was an honor to cook with you all. Best of luck to the final six!

In less than 2 weeks I’ll be heading to Bentonville, Arkansas to compete against the 9 other finalist from the @worldfoodchampionships . I’m sure the other chefs have been practicing the dishes they are going to prepare left and right to try and win the title of the world food champion! Then there is me. I went into the WFC not practicing any dish, it was just my gut and culinary talent. I won the seafood category. Fast forward to just under 2 weeks until the first round and I have yet to put anything in a pan or oven that will be presented at the final table. I will be using my gut and culinary knowledge again and doing each round not knowing what I will create. Does this put me at a huge disadvantage against the 9 other finalist? You bet, but so does doing this alone with no sous chef. The other chefs have sous chefs and back up sous chefs. Going into this year’s Final Table, I set out to prove to myself I am still talented in this culinary world. I have been the underdog my whole life and that’s ok. It makes me work harder to earn everything I have. Win or lose, I’ll give everything I have but I’m looking to bring this gold home for my family and myself. Let’s finish this journey on top!!!
