🍽️ If you love good food and a good time, you need to get yourself a ticket to @chef_abiro ’s “A Culinary Tale of Love.” ❤️
We went for part 1 and truly had the best time — properly wined, dined, and taken care of. A few things to know before you go:
— Don’t eat before. The table stays busy. You will leave full.
— The drinks are flowing and the pairings make the menu hit even harder.
— This isn’t a “come, eat, leave” kind of dinner. Abiro actually hosts — he checks on every table and carries the room.
— No guesswork. Between courses, you get the story behind each dish — the why, the roots, the little personal details that make it all feel intimate.
— There are gifts, there are musical acts, there are performances, there is a learning element you won’t get anywhere else ➡️ this isn’t a dinner this is an experience
If you’re in Accra, put this on your must-try list. And if you’re not… trust us, it’s worth planning around.

THE NORTHERN EXPERIENCE — CHAPTER II
𝑨 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑻𝒂𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆
In Chapter I, @chef_abiro learned how love and marriage are shaped in the North.
In Chapter II, the story moves forward — towards a proposal.
This chapter explores a love that connects the Northern and Central Regions of Ghana, told
through a call-and-response four-course dinner, thoughtfully paired with drinks — where
each course speaks, and the next responds.
Between courses, the evening unfolds with:
✨ musical interludes
✨ poetry recitals
✨ surprise gifts crafted to deepen the experience
Because love is not rushed, it is listened to, answered, and savoured.

MEET THE CHANGEMAKER | 👨🏾🍳 Chef Wisdom Abiro
@chef_abiro is one of these people that makes you smile when you talk to him. The way he enunciates on certain words: you do want to listen to what he has to say, it might just change the way you think!
He is proud of his culture and never misses a chance to let his roots shine through. Northern Ghana is where he was born and raised and he would love for people to know more about the culinary dishes that this region has to offer.
He became famous as the tigernut burger 🍔 Chef, when he came up with a meat alternative made from tigernuts. The burgers sold out at the @accrapremium and we regularly get asked where one might purchase it.
THE KITCHEN is the place where an innovation like this can take off. Because we run programs from seed to shelf. Imagine a tigernut patty that you can purchase in any store ‼️😁

Two years ago, a thought unsettled me…
Why do we still celebrate stories like St. Valentine or Romeo and Juliet every February in Africa, when we have our own beautiful, powerful tales of love within our culture? 😂
That question sparked something.
I envisioned a culinary experience that celebrates the true essence of February—love ❤️—while creating a platform to showcase our indigenous stories through food. A space where ingredients speak, and where culinary arts meet music, poetry, and fashion… all rooted in tradition, yet connecting cultures.
And from that vision, the Culinary Tale of Love ❤️ was born.
Episode 1: Self Discovery
Before you can truly love another, you must first know, accept, and love yourself.
Episode 2: The Intention of Cultural Connection
Now that we understand who we are, the journey continues—learning to love another, and expressing that love through culture and cuisine.
A beautiful tale by Chef Abiro and Chef @britney.andoh —capturing what it means for a chef from the North to express love and intention to a chef from the Central Region ❤️
✨ Now tell me…
Do you think African love stories are underrepresented during Valentine’s season?

Test Café, but make it about the people.
The ones who stay from start to finish.
Who hold the energy, set the tone, and carry it through every moment — even the quiet ones.
From direction to detail, from conversation to control, from showmanship to stillness… everyone brought something that made the space feel alive.
It wasn’t just about the food.
It was the feeling you couldn’t leave without.

It’s been over a week or two since my first ever collaboration dinner with @chef_abiro
When Chef Abiro first spoke to me about playing a part in a love story told through food, I didn’t quite realise how much it would mean to me. The concept was a love story between a Northern man and a Fante woman, with each dish carrying a story to tell. Food as the language.
But somewhere in the middle of it all, the experience became personal for me too.
I fell in love again with the chance to create, to think outside the box, and how i want the plates to be perceived. To cook not just for people, but from a place of imagination and emotion.
So this is just a little note of gratitude to @chef_abiro , and to this craft we call cooking.
Thank you for inviting me into the story and for giving me the space to be the little kid I still am in the kitchen. It was truly a pleasure creating alongside you.
Now we wait for the wedding. 😂😉
We don’t do just any ol’ welcome dinner.
In Ghana, our kinfolk’s first taste of the country comes during a chef-led dining experience, where beloved dishes like jollof rice are prepared with lesser-known local ingredients like prekese.
For our people—no matter where in the diaspora we call home—food has hardly ever been just about sustenance.
It’s survival. It’s ritual. It’s memory. It’s a return.
It’s funeral food,
It’s Friday fish fries,
It’s Sunday dinner,
It’s prosperity on NYE,
It’s homecoming.

Entre ami(e)s ✨
Last month’s Dinner with Friends was more than a collaboration.
With Chefs Dominique Tolbert, Abiro Wisdom and Mawuli Dzansi, we wandered through the local market, sourcing ingredients and tracing the ties between Liberia and Ghana.
Aimee and Lydia ensured the guest experience was seamless, thoughtful, and warm. And DJ Shagy turned the house all the way up with a perfectly fitting live set.
Food. Music. Community.
What more could one ask for?

Exploring the ties between Liberia and Ghana through food, we teamed up with Chef Dominique Tolbert for a collaborative dinner entre amis.
The Kitchen was on fire with a live DJ set by our house favorite @obagounltd with Lydia & Aimée on the Front of House.
Liberian Torbogee & Kittley took center stage with our very own Bolga Rice, pickled okra & tangy cucumber salad. Prekesse ice cream paired with Liberian rum cake and ginger crumble brought a sweet boozy ending to the night.
As we open our doors to more cross-country collaborations and cultural exchange, we look forward to hosting experiences like this, inviting you to explore flavors from here and beyond, and to gather around what truly unites us: food.
