And our 2025 season has come to an end! 🪡🎉 Thank you so much to everyone who joined us at The Emperor’s New Clothes! We had a blast at every show and it was all thanks to you, waving your flags, and cheering and laughing with us! It was truly boots slay yas gawd kween 💅 Revisiting this show 10 years on has been a joyful and deeply rewarding ride — and it takes a whole village to make magic happen. We’re endlessly grateful to our incredible company onstage and off, whose talent, care and craft stitched this production together seam by glorious seam 🧵 At its heart, The Emperor’s New Clothes reminds us to think for ourselves and speak the truth, even when everyone else stays silent. Its colourful characters and comic chaos may keep young audiences laughing, but its lessons in courage, honesty and critical thinking linger long after the curtain falls. Here’s wishing you and your loved ones a holiday season full of joy, and a 2026 brimming with love, laughter, and many moments of togetherness! See you all in 2026! 👋

1 WEEK TO GO before we open The Emperor’s New Clothes! 🧵 The company had their first sitzprobe this week — it’s that magical moment when the cast sings with the band for the very first time. It’s incredible to hear everything come alive after weeks of rehearsal, just before we head into the theatre next week! Don’t miss out on your chance to see the Emperor’s boldest look yet… in all its (naked?!) glory! 😜 Link to tickets in our bio 🔗

[🇸🇬 SG CULTURE PASS ELIGIBLE!] Our annual holiday musical is back this festive season with 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬! hossanleong bares it all (almost) as the Emperor, and @cheezuls & @rinojuniorjohn pull off their greatest trick yet as the Tailors! 👑🪡 Bursting at the seams with laughter, music and mischief for the whole family… It’s tailor-made for a royally good time! 🤭 🔗 Book your tickets now via the link in our bio! 🧵 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬 📆 13 Nov to 21 Dec 2025 Directed by Pam Oei Written by Joel Tan Music by Julian Wong Starring Hossan Leong, Izzul Irfan, Rino Junior John, Candice De Rozario, Audrey Luo, Sugie Phua, and the First Stage Kids Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far away, ruled a vain and pompous Emperor who was crazy about his clothes, himself and little else. So obsessed with fashion was he that he decreed that the 60th anniversary of his reign be celebrated with the most extravagant National Dress Parade of all time, with him at the centre of all the pomp and pageantry. One day, two cheeky tailors discover a dark secret in the Emperor’s palace and decide to teach him a lesson. Presenting the Emperor with an eye-popping ensemble literally woven out of thin air, they convince him that only the smartest and most competent people in the land can see it. What can be done to stop the nation’s biggest wardrobe malfunction? Why won’t the Emperor’s courtiers and the aristocracy speak up? Is there anyone who’s brave enough to tell the naked truth? This holiday season, Wild Rice proudly presents 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐫’𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬 – a Singaporean spin on Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless tale about the ultimate fashion victim. Inventively directed by Pam Oei, this runway-ready production features a razor-sharp script updated by Joel Tan and a sparkling score by Julian Wong. Fun and laughter never go out of fashion – don’t miss the most hilarious, heartwarming musical of the year! Duration: Approximately 2 hours 10 minutes (including intermission) Recommended for patrons aged 4 and up

Hard Mode (2024) it’s been months and i still do not have the words for this production, but only because it changed me at some fundamental level - partly because the work spoke to my past self with a tenderness that I never really afforded myself, and partly because of the grief that we carried with us at the end. Faith had crafted characters that were so real i was actually afraid to face Rian at first - we shared too many shades, cut from too similar a cloth. A lot of the work on this production was as personal as it was professional, but the best kind of works do that to you. Hard Mode is a production that I will always speak of with immeasurable love because of the sheer care and delicacy every single person in the entire Checkpoint team brought to it. and i miss it all, dearly. i am so immensely grateful to have been able to be part of this. thank you, thank you, thank you.
