I was sat in the corner on the bleachers,
right where you left me, looking past the cheer of the crowd
My high pitched voice searing cheers of encomium at you
But you couldn't see me
I gathered my anticipation
My excitement full to the brim
Wildly spilling with the grin permanently etched on my face
Ready to lunge at you when the crowd disperse
But the crowd is long gone
and so are you
And I wonder
Was their cheer louder than mine
I swear my lungs bleed from screaming so much
I'm still in the corner
Patiently waiting for the next game
Perhaps even the one after that
As long as it takes you to come back
I hope my lungs don't give up on me before then
