The Labubu craze made Pop Mart one of the hottest stocks in the world — and now it’s unraveling just as fast. The company behind the viral collectible toy posted blockbuster annual results for 2025 — revenue of $5.4 billion, up 185% year over year, with net income more than quadrupling. On paper, it looked like a win. However, Pop Mart’s stock plunged more than 30% in just five trading sessions following the earnings release, extending a collapse that has now wiped nearly 60% off its value since its August 2025 peak — erasing roughly $33 billion in market capitalization. The core concern is dependency. Labubu now makes up 40% of total company revenue, up from 23% the year before. Every other major figure in Pop Mart’s lineup — Crybaby, Molly — posted weaker-than-expected sales. Investors aren’t betting against Labubu. They’re betting that Pop Mart has nothing behind it. The company launched a $166 million share buyback to stop the bleeding, yet it didn’t quite work. Nonetheless, the CEO reassured investors that “Pop Mart has more than just Labubu.” #labubu #popmart #toys

IMAX dropped tickets for select 70mm screenings of Dune: Part Three today — eight months before the December 18 release — and the financial stakes behind that move are enormous. Dune: Part Three has locked every IMAX screen in the U.S. for three exclusive weeks, shutting out Avengers: Doomsday entirely. Analysts at Cinelytic estimate IMAX will contribute roughly 20% of Dune 3’s total box office and deliver a 12.9% revenue uplift — nearly four times the lift Avengers: Doomsday would have received. For context, Avengers: Endgame pulled over $120 million from IMAX screens alone in its first two weekends. Doomsday won’t see a single dollar of that in the U.S. Meanwhile, Dune Part Two grossed $714 million worldwide on a $190 million budget. Part Three is projected to cross $1 billion — and locking IMAX eight months early, with tickets already flying, suggests Warner Bros. is betting it gets there. #warnerbros #avengers #dune

Congress just introduced a bill to ban Chinese robotics from American infrastructure. Behind it is a quieter admission, that while the US dominates AI development, it has fallen badly behind in the physical machines that will run the next economy. Could U.S. robotics infrastructure catch up in the race? Check out this full NYC Innovates episode on our YouTube channel!

Aqua jogging, a workout that is quietly more effective than almost anything done on land🌊🏃 Running underwater, also known as aqua jogging, replicates the exact motion of running while removing nearly all joint impact. The water provides 12 to 14 percent more resistance than air, which means your muscles are working harder on every single stride, burning up to 40% more calories than a comparable land run, with zero pounding on your knees, ankles, or hips. Studies show that runners who switch to aqua jogging exclusively for up to six weeks maintain their 5K times, their VO2 max, and their lactate threshold with almost no measurable drop in performance. It strengthens the areas runners neglect most, which are hip flexors, shoulders, core, and lower back, simply because water pushes back from every direction at once. Cardiologists recommend it to patients because the heart actually pumps more blood per beat in deep water than it does on land.

Some technology was built to last forever🥁🎻 James, the collector behind Mechanical Music Man, has devoted his life to operating 1900s hand-wound mobile instruments, artifacts from an era when music was something you wound up, set in motion, and let fill the room. No algorithms. Just gears, springs, and melodies that have hand carved into cardboards. Credit @mechanicalmusicman #music #history #invention
