Sabían que Arri probó por más de 5 años sus sensores de cine digital con la Arriflex D-20 y D-21 antes de sacar la primera Arri Alexa. Probaron el rendimiento en películas, con diferentes directores de fotografía, y esas cámaras solo estuvieron disponible para arriendo.
Una vez sintieron que habían creado un sensor capaz de tener una respuesta muy similar al celuloide, el sensor Alev3, deciden lanzar la Arri Alexa Classic. Con la que estoy en esa foto.
Mi chanchita tiene más de 12 años, es 2.8K, y es la cámara que me ha entregado la imagen más bella de todas las que he tenido.
Que buena pega Arri.

Cinematographer @jessearagon7 using the @atlaslensco Mercury lenses to capture outstanding landscapes in Malibu Hills for the movie that tells the story of Jimmy Stewart before returning to Hollywood.
The “painterly” character and optical performance of these lenses, made them the best fit for this beautiful and bittersweet story.

"We needed to establish a scene expert in front of camera in a technical and professional space, so we took advantage of a contrasty lighting, and then the products in a top-placed camera, where the light presents evenly but with a touch of backlight.
For the corporate video we wanted to establish a soft look on faces, but with enough contrast to give the video a clean and polished look. Also the places we shot were small, so we couldn’t have done it without the bounces kit.
The light came mainly from the floor, and bounced into the faces with diffused reflectors."

They are vintage/modern lenses that introduce controlled characteristics keeping the features of a precise lens set, such as contrast, resolution, no CA, tone fidelity, low distortion; but adding precise spherical aberrations that would introduce a beautiful focus transition and bokeh characteristics. Rendering pleasing skin tones, distinctive but controlled flares, bubble "busy" out of focus and more.
I had the chance to compare it to the Supreme Primes, SP Radiance, Nano Primes. And this fills the line up with a particular and optically engineered look.

Cinematographer Pablo Arribas, ACC member, shares his experience using KNOWLED fixtures to maintain creative consistency under challenging conditions.
“We wanted to show a warm environment based on the lighting of the sunset. Since the day was overcasted with clouds, we relied on the M1000R fixture to replicate the sunlight. All the scenes were on interiors, both in wide and tight spaces. For the wider shots, we used the M1000R, and for the tight places, we had the LiteFlow reflectors and the small but mighty Godox RS60Bi.
Color accuracy and portability of the KNOWLED lights was a huge help to pull this project out.
And the portability of the RS60Bi was amazing for all the quick shots on different places of the location.
All of the lights were operated via the app, so we could shoot the whole project easily and quickly.”

Atlas Mercury are Full Frame / Vista Vision / LF Format. They have a 1.5x squeeze factor, and subtle warmer flares and barrel distortion in some lenses of the set.
Here I tried with the Canon C400 in Open Gate 6K, saw the characteristics and consistency of the glass.
