The last spring list for 2026 has arrived, this time looking at photography archives, diasporic films, fragmented diaries and altered gazes through books that speak of fatigue, intimacy and mediation as tools to grasp that which lies beyond the surface. 🖤

Saturday, April 25, 2–5pm Question What It Normalises
A workshop by Cheat Code and @ioanna.gerakidi At @specterdesigngroup , through @specterfutures Admission: Free ✨ […] What does it mean to use AI as a tool for writing within artistic practice without reproducing its often normative, occasionally flattening logics? How do we engage AI critically without allowing it to extract further time, energy, and cognitive labour from already precarious workers? How can we subvert or “misuse” AI systems to generate language that challenges coherence, efficiency, and institutional legibility? How might AI not only assist in describing our work, but fundamentally destabilise how that work is understood—by institutions and by ourselves? “Question What It Normalises” is a 3-hour workshop focusing on these questions, aiming to think through the textual uses of AI in artistic, curatorial, and research practices. The workshop is open to artists, writers, curators, researchers, and other creative or cultural workers at every stage of their careers. […] Admission is free. Limited spots available.

Cheat Code’s March reads are here—this time focused on undoing languages that fail, fracture, or refuse us. The suggested books reclaim words (and meanings) that no longer serve, ask what it takes to write beyond the mother tongue, find glossaries out of displacement and endurance, trace the slippages that form—and inform—our identities and practices. Stay tuned for more readings & in the meantime feel free to reach out to us if you are looking for suggestions, research or artistic materials that resonate with your interests & practice! 💫

Free application reviews are back! 26.03 / ONLINE Are you an artist, curator, or researcher working on a funding, residency, or other application and looking for support? We offer free one-to-one sessions where we review your application together. During the session we’ll look at the structure, strengths, and gaps in the application itself, and think through how your practice is being positioned within it. Together we’ll explore ways to articulate your work more clearly, refine the language around your practice, and strengthen how your ideas come across. If you’d like to book a session, get in touch; limited spots available ✨

What can mentoring do? How can it allow our practice to clearly address or situate its axes? How can it help us, as artists, researchers, curators and cultural workers, find new ways to first acknowledge—and then push through—the financial precarity and constant labour that occasionally drain us? And what does it take to belong to a community that supports our growth? These are some of the questions explored during Cheat Code’s mentoring sessions. Through them, we focus on understanding the core problematics, struggles or needs of our practices while developing new methodologies to surpass them—individually and collectively. Want to know more about our sessions? Get in touch with us. Send us a DM or email [email protected]

Happy New Year everyone! 🐝 Cheat Code’s entering 2026, reflecting on the ways we can work and word our goals and struggles, our desires or obstacles, artistically and otherwise. How can mentoring or consulting sessions be used as a means or vehicles for growing through a series of questions affecting, forming or informing our work in the cultural field? How can consulting be seen as or become a practice of belonging, a way to engage with our communities, a means to expand networks of solidarity, our gaze or our vocabularies? Stay tuned for more xx 💫
