How do we engage AI critically without allowing it to extract further time, energy, and cognitive labour from already precarious workers? How can we subvert or “misuse” AI systems to generate language that challenges coherence, efficiency, and institutional legibility? How might AI not only assist in describing our work, but fundamentally destabilise how that work is understood—by institutions and by ourselves? “Question What It Normalises” is a 3-hour workshop focusing on these questions, aiming to think through the textual uses of AI in artistic, curatorial, and research practices. Free application reviews are back! 26.03 / ONLINE Are you an artist, curator, or researcher working on a funding, residency, or other application and looking for support? We offer free one-to-one sessions where we review your application together. During the session we’ll look at the structure, strengths, and gaps in the application itself, and think through how your practice is being positioned within it. Together we’ll explore ways to articulate your work more clearly, refine the language around your practice, and strengthen how your ideas come across. What can mentoring do? How can it allow our practice to clearly address or situate its axes? How can it help us, as artists, researchers, curators and cultural workers, find new ways to first acknowledge—and then push through—the financial precarity and constant labour that occasionally drain us?
