Multi-instrumenalist punk rocker Che Arthur brings his Hüsker Dü-ish indie punk songs to Waller's Coffee in Decatur on Wednesday, January 28th, joined by Athens rock legends Five Eight and Atlanta post-punk provocateurs Victory Hands. The Chicago-based Arthur is touring in support of his fourth solo LP, DESCRIBE THIS PRESENT MOMENT. Five Eight is still riding high after touring the southeast from Austin to Asheville to Tampa with their critically-acclaimed feature documentary, WEIRDO: THE STORY OF FIVE EIGHT, which was just released on blu-ray and DVD. The band's ninth studio album, HELP A SINNER, will be released in March on Static Era Records. Victory Hands is prepping to record their "Watergatefold" double album, CAVETT, which covers the Watergate scandal chronologically, using transcripts from the period as lyrics.

tomorrow austin, please bring yourselves to this bitchin event. @adam_reach and i played in this same location in the 90s when it was a different club called the blue flamingo, and that place was wild. our show was crazy but was only the beginning of truly one of my favorite and most insane nights ever. after our show we walked down the block to the original emo’s to see a completely chaotic show by a certain band with a name i’m not sure i’m allowed to post here for profanity reasons 😆. let’s just say their name included two orifices that for roughly half of humans are very near each other. anyway, austin friends, hope to see you there tomorrow.
