‘Double Framed: AP House as Memory Theatre’ by Eashan Chaufla and Vikramaditya Prakash. The exhibition explores the spatial structure of memory within the AP House in Chandigarh, designed in 1969 by Aditya Prakash, a pioneering Indian modernist. The house becomes a stage where histories and memories of inhabitation reappear. Each work consists of two photographic layers: images from 1969 after the completion of the house, where Prakash staged scenes of domestic modernity with his family, and photographs from 1960 to 1975 documenting the Punjab Agricultural University in Ludhiana and theatrical scenes at the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh, where Prakash’s amateur theatre company, Abhinet, performed. The images share a visual field but remain physically separated, creating the experience of memory as a living force in the present. ‘Double Framed’ is on view March 1-15, 3-7pm at AP House, Chandigarh. @vikram.prakash Fabrication by Studio CHD @studio.chd Produced by AP House @aphouse.chd Photos by Vaibhav Passi @vaibhav_passi [Aditya Prakash, Indian Modernism, Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh, Photography, Installation]

(Not) For Sale, 2025 Office Chair (½ scale), enamel paint An exploration of how Chandigarh furniture markings - once purely utilitarian - have been rebranded as markers of authenticity, elevating their status as high art and inflating their auction value. Part of an ongoing series engaging with the semiotics of Chandigarh furniture as fetishized #midcenturymodern objects, oscillating between function, aura, and commodification.
