If Carnival has ever meant something to you — we want to hear it.
Notting Hill Carnival is more than a celebration. It’s memory, culture, community and lived experience.
For over a decade, I’ve been documenting Carnival alongside Wayne Campbell, aka @acelebrationofdemonstration , capturing moments from the road through our photography and visual storytelling.
We’re now creating a forthcoming photography book, planned for publication this June, and we want the community to help shape it.
We’re inviting you to share your Carnival memories — stories, reflections or moments that stayed with you.
📝 Send us a quote (max 50 words)

Selected memories will be included in the book.
⚠️ Space in the book is limited, so early submissions have the best chance of being included.

Two protests.
One city. Same afternoon.
On Saturday, central London became the backdrop for two distinctly different demonstrations — one in Whitehall opposing the Iranian regime, and one in Piccadilly Circus in solidarity with Palestine and peace.
Thousands gathered in Whitehall calling for change in Iran and condemning the crackdown on dissent. Just streets away, hundreds assembled in support of Palestine — emphasising love and solidarity during Valentine’s weekend, despite the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
They were physically close — yet completely separate.
Why?
Do global alliances shape which movements stand together… and which remain divided?
This short documentary combines moving footage and still frames to capture the emotion, atmosphere and complexity of protest in London.
Full film now live on YouTube via link in bio.
I’m genuinely interested in thoughtful perspectives below 👇

In Solidarity with Sudan — London’s Voices for Justice 🇸🇩✊🏾
On 8 November 2025, the streets of London filled with the colours of the Sudanese flag and the sound of unity. Over 5,000 people — from the Sudanese diaspora, allies, students, and human-rights campaigners — came together to march for peace, justice, and visibility for Sudan, a nation enduring unimaginable conflict and humanitarian crisis.
This was more than a protest — it was an act of solidarity and resistance. From Trafalgar Square to the UAE Embassy, chants echoed through the capital: “Stop the war, stop the silence.”
Continuing my journey in visual activism, I documented this march to shed light on a struggle that has been overshadowed by other global headlines. My twenty-image carousel captures the raw emotion, resilience, and dignity of those demanding the world not look away.
This is a visual reminder that even when mainstream attention fades, the fight for freedom continues — in the streets, through voices, and through images that speak truth to power.

Istanbul Nights — Between Smoke and Silence 🇹🇷
Three years since my last visit, and Istanbul still feels like a city of a thousand lives unfolding at once. This short escape took me from the dreamlike skies of Cappadocia to the restless heartbeat of Sultanahmet — where light, motion, and history intertwine in every frame.
From the Blue Mosque glowing under the night sky, streaked by the blur of traffic, to the timeless Galata Tower watching over the Bosphorus, each image reveals a city alive with contrasts. A street vendor preparing my Balık Dürüm, his face veiled by smoke; strangers testing their luck at a lottery kiosk; and those quiet, deserted backstreets breathing in silence long after midnight.
All six images were captured with my Fujifilm X100V, using its fixed 23 mm f/2 lens (35 mm full-frame equivalent) — a setup that lets me move quietly and frame instinctively. Its compact form allows me to remain unnoticed, capturing moments as they truly are. Each frame is refined in Adobe Lightroom, where I apply my signature muted, cinematic tones — a visual language shaped by mood, memory, and the quiet rhythm of observation.
These photographs are a teaser for my upcoming photo essay documenting Istanbul by night — coming soon to my website and Substack. A visual journey through a city caught between East and West, faith and fortune, chaos and calm.

Grey Resistance: Trafalgar Square, London — October 2025
Yesterday, I witnessed one of the most powerful acts of peaceful defiance in recent memory. Hundreds filled Trafalgar Square, standing in silent solidarity with #palestina after its proscription under the Terrorism Act 2000 — a moment defined by courage and quiet conviction.
More than 490 arrests were made, many of them elderly citizens — people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. Grandparents, retired teachers, former NHS staff and lifelong activists sat peacefully holding signs that read “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.” Their presence proved that resistance is ageless and that moral conviction endures.
These photographs reflect solidarity, dignity, and the human cost of conscience in modern Britain — a reminder that protest is not a crime but a cornerstone of democracy.
Captured on the Fujifilm X-Pro3, edited in Adobe Lightroom, these images stay true to my muted tones and cinematic mood, continuing my exploration of visual activism and the power of storytelling through photography.

“Congo in the Shadows of the iPhone”
On September 19th, while crowds queued outside Apple’s flagship store to buy the new iPhone 17, protesters gathered to shine a light on the hidden cost of our devices. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) holds vast reserves of cobalt, coltan, and other minerals essential for smartphones, yet communities face exploitation, displacement, and violence tied to this demand.
This protest reminded consumers that behind every launch event lies a deeper story—one of human rights abuses, child labour, and corporate accountability.
These images are not just about protest but about awareness: challenging us to rethink the true price of technology and stand with those whose voices are too often silenced.

“Launch Day. iPhone 17. Apple Store.
But what’s the real cost?”
As the world rushed for the iPhone 17, Congolese voices demanded to be heard. This protest outside Apple Store London exposed how big tech profits rely on exploited labour and resources in the DRC.

Anti-Fascists vs. Unite the Kingdom – London, 14 Sept 2025
Yesterday I documented the clash between the “Unite the Kingdom” march and anti-fascist, anti-racist protesters standing against Tommy "ten names" Robinson and everything he represents.
Heavy rain did not dampen the passion or the voices in the streets. Drink-fuelled abuse and missiles were thrown, yet arrests remained remarkably low.
Contrast this with last week’s pro-Palestine Action march—where over 800 people, including elderly pensioners and even a blind protester, were arrested under terrorism laws.
It raises a haunting question: Can 80-year-old pensioners really be considered a terrorist threat, while unfettered nationalism targeting minorities is tolerated?
These 20 images are my record of resistance, division, and the ongoing struggle over who gets to protest—and whose voices are silenced.

⚡ London streets erupted yesterday: nationalists vs. anti-fascists. Low arrests despite abuse + missiles—while last week 800+ pro-Palestine protesters, incl. pensioners, were branded ‘terrorists.’ Who decides whose voices are silenced?
