🐦⬛ Wren vs. drip 💧
On my walk yesterday the birds were alive with the sound of spring. At the start of my walk I encountered this loud little Wren which you can hear in the first recording. I was about to move on afterwards when I went back to record the water dripping too. I couldn't get too close to the water due to foliage but tried my best. Although the drip is slightly clearer so, it seems, is the Wren too. The Wren was clearly the star of the show that morning!

🐦Blackcap 🐦
I've been going on frequent walks around my local area. Armed with my trusty Merlin, Blackcaps keep being picked up but I've yet to see one. On my walk to Sale yesterday I finally lucked out. I was close enough that my new phone camera could get a semi-decent picture, and I managed to record a little of its song. Blackcaps are usually summer visiting birds but with global warming have been spending more time in the UK. Hopefully I'll get to see the ones that are on my doorstep now I can recognise their song!

I've been going for more walks so far this year and doing some birdwatching. I recorded this today where some water was trickling down, birds were singing in the background, and a plane was flying overhead. I think it made a lovely, fairly calming, ambience.

Hello! Long time no speak. It's fair to say that my creative juices haven't been flowing as much recently and retail work has taken it's toll over the festive period. What do we expect during hibernation season? Nonetheless, I want to start creating again, and first off is a little bit of spring cleaning on my profile. I've archived a majority of the audio challenge posts as I disliked the sea of purple and have created this montage of my favourites.

A happy holidays to everyone! Although I've had no big projects this year for sound, it's been fun experimenting and creating in my own time 😊 and, of course, I graduated with a Masters, so that has to be a highlight! Who knows what the next year will hold.

I've created my own minisode of Bluey- Halloween edition! Using the art of stop-motion animation and some Bluey figurines, I decided to create a little something for the spooky season. I composed the music for this too 😊

House Sparrows 🐦⬛
I recorded this clip about a year and a half ago when I was on the way to work at 6:30am. Sparrows were chirping away in a hedgerow, and in the background a mix of a Blackbird, some type of Gull, and other morning birds can be heard. The first version is my edit and the second is the original recording. As you can hear I've reduced the car noise in the background and made the audio a little louder. The second half of the clip really sounds quite clear!
I recently got a new tattoo by the wonderfully talented @beckypopetattoo - my own little house sparrow. I think this is a perfect way to show off both my tattoo and my recording!
I want to start posting some of the bird recordings I have, and hopefully record some new ones in the future.

Airwiggles Audio Challenge 25 - Day 14 - Huedini
A clip from the video game Huedini which can be found on Steam. I'm really enjoying the 8-bit game clips and getting to mess around with Bitcrusher. I used a foley session recording of an orange being squished for the tentacles of the monster.

Airwiggles Audio Challenge 25 - Day 5 - Only Lead Can Stop Them
Today's clip was from the retro-style video game Only Lead Can Stop Them which can be found on Steam. I've never created audio for this style before, so getting to play around with Bitcrusher was a lot of fun! Tried to add a little music too. One thing from today that I've realised is that I need to practice my mixing skills.

Airwiggles Audio Challenge 25 - Day 3 - The Last Delivery Man On Earth
Today's clip is from the video game The Last Delivery Man On Earth which can be found on Steam. I wasn't thrilled that car sounds were needed for today, and I had the option to create this either before work, or after work when I'd be tired and probably wouldn't want to. I opted for before work and decided to make it more fun and make all the sounds using my mouth, recorded using my MacBook microphone. This ended up being a lot of fun to make! A future improvement would be to vary the pitch of some of the sounds.

Airwiggles Audio Challenge 25 - Day 2 - Rodeo Moon
The one type of sound I thought I lacked was metal ones, but I have more than I thought! I once again just chucked some in my session and it somehow pulled together! Also couldn't resist recording my own snort for the background creature.

I'm officially a Master of Sound Design! 🥳
The final piece to completing my Masters degree. The day flew by. It was great to see friends and family, I didn't stumble across the stage, I ate good food and just had a lovely time all round.
Congrats to any other 2025 graduates out there. We did it! 🎉🎓
