Smile at someone, 2026 (today, 10/05/2026, about 45 minutes ago). Graphite from a vintage Ticonderoga no.2 pencil as well as a gifted pink marker and some dried out yellow sharpie. Sized 23.4 x 16.5 inches. Part of a new series of drawings that I’m working on titled “Grand Revelations”.
Alberto Savinio, Giorgio de Chirico’s oft omitted younger brother, painted a mountain of toys in response to surrealist notions of play. Perched above an abyss, the tower timidly stands acting as a reliquary encapsulating youthful jubilation. The image supports the guide while the character provides assistance to wandering souls.
