Flipping through my sketchbook this evening I came across a line sketch from a couple years ago. At the time I loved it raw, unfinished, simple. But tonight I wanted to continue working with it. I love it even more now

Got to go to the State Fair with my family last week. We hadn’t done so all of us together since 98/99. We had the best time ever! To see my parents smile the way they did filled my soul. This spur-of-the-moment outing did a lot for all of use honestly. Gods timing is something man!
Grief is such a powerful feeling rooted in eternal love. It can hit you unexpectedly like a bullet… I was stuck this evening while watching a movie. A man was killed in the film, and his mother sang at his funeral… I had an instant flash of the real life scene I witnessed of my aunt singing at her own son’s funeral…. I cried the remainder of the film. That was a sight and feeling I can never forget. But thought my tears all I could think of was her power and strength in that moment. She too left us a few years ago, and our family still misses the both of them tremendously. I felt inspired to sketch my aunt Lerner this evening. She loved my art so much and was always so encouraging. I cried multiple times trying to get through my drawing, but I took my time and pushed it out. I think she would love this one too.

I’ve been trying to figure out how I wanted to talk about celebrating 10 years of Sergio Hudson Collection. It’s challenging to try to describe what ten years of work feels like when you’re still going just as hard today as you were on day one. Hell, maybe even harder.
For the past ten years I’ve been walking out a dream. And along the way the steps have not looked at all the way I thought they would. But I guess it’s impossible to imagine what God’s path for you looks like… I think I’m fine with where it has lead.
Thank you! Everyone! Thank you for lending your time, talents, love and support to our dream. I pray you all are as blessed as we have been these past 10 years.
Can’t wait to see what year 20 brings!

This week marked 10 years of living in Los Angeles. I originally wanted to do a post of throwback images to commemorate this moment, but that was until I saw that 2016 became a trending post. That took the steam right out of it for me. While in the process I also realized that all my photos from that year are all missing, with the exception of those I’ve previously posted. So scroll back if you dare! LOL
To celebrate 10 years of residency in the Golden State I did the thing I foolishly rarely do….and that’s go to the beach. I thought there is no better way to mark this moment than to plant my feet in the sand, let my toes dance in the waves, and bathe my skin in the Cali sunsets I love so much.
