‘Lilly’
I’m happy to announce that my painting ‘Lily’ will be in the New Classical Art exhibition this year from the 20th August - 28th September at Fullham Palace. @newclassical.art - If you can make it, there will be fantastic paintings I’m exhibiting alongside.
This painting of Lilly was made entirely from life, to the scale of life and under natural light (always).

Instructors Isabella Watling - @isabellawatling - and Emily Rogers - @emilyrogersart - painting the portrait of Yasmina Zanasi - @yasminazanasi - in our Advanced Painting Studios at Piazzale Donatello in Florence this autumn term. In these 19th century, purpose built studios the sight-size method is correctly used to create a portrait to the scale of life, viewed from a great distance under natural light.
Working daily alongside students, our instructors demonstrate the shared method and visual philosophy passed to them from Charles, who received his training in turn from the students of the Boston School of painters and J. S. Sargent.
We consider applications to study with us all year round. To learn more about our courses and how to apply please go to the link in our bio or email directly to [email protected]
Thanks to Rominha Loayza for the film. 🎥 @latebiosa

The second part of our exploration of the ‘British School’ of painters. An upstart from the ‘New World’ absorbs the lessons of the three biggest portrait painters in London-centric, 18th c. European Art and pushes the envelope towards contemporary portraiture by injecting a fresh perspective in the midst of global wars of independence and revolution. @charlescecilstudios - 14/05/26
