Pilates with the soldiers of Uganda 🇺🇬 for the UPDF was a reminder of how movement can heal both body and mind.
Many soldiers face PTSD, mental health challenges, and battles with alcoholism , and reconnecting with their bodies through mindful movement can be incredibly restorative.
Joseph Pilates originally created his method as rehabilitation for soldiers and prisoners, and seeing them engage, move, and enjoy the session reminded me that healing can start with a single breath, a single stretch, a single moment of awareness.
