And here I am again, at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, for my weekly blood draw, PHESGO shot and—this time—a visit with my wonderful oncologist, Dr. Frances Valdez. This is all part of my year-long participation in the “Adept” study, looking at how treatment for early stage HER2+ breast cancer can be reduced so that patients are not over treated. Very grateful for Sylvester and this study, and for mammography, which detected my early breast cancer while it was very treatable with an excellent prognosis. Don’t forget your annual mammograms, amd, if you are in a target population, like a person of Ashkenazi descent, get genetic screening. It could save your life! 🩷
