Matthew Eclevia, President of Freehab Therapy, is doing incredible work to expand access to neurological rehabilitation across North County San Diego. Through a mobile, pro bono model, Freehab Therapy is helping bridge the gap many patients face after dischargeโespecially individuals recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and chronic neurological conditions.
By bringing care directly into patientsโ homes, Matthew and his team are addressing major barriers like insurance limitations and transportation challenges, while emphasizing the critical importance of continuity of careโparticularly in the first six months of recovery.
Beyond rehabilitation, Freehab Therapy is building community through initiatives like group activities and is continuing to grow its reach through future programming and fundraising efforts.

Another unforgettable experience advocating for the future of physical therapy at CPTA Legislative Day in Sacramento! ๐๏ธ Our DPT students had the opportunity to engage directly with policymakers, learn how legislation impacts our profession, and develop the skills needed to be strong advocates for patient care. From understanding how bills become law to meeting with legislators and their teams, this experience brought classroom learning to life in the most meaningful way.
