At Channing School, every challenge is an opportunity to be 10% braver.
Try the thing you’re scared to try.
Share the idea you’re scared to share.
Take the step you’re scared to take.
That’s what being 10% braver looks like.
We build that bravery every day — becoming fearless learners, for life. And when bravery becomes a habit, the extraordinary follows.
Thank you to @riseproductionsuk for helping us bring this film to life.
On Friday 15th May, our @youngenterpriseuk partnership team with @staloysiusc@seedsandgreetings won their London and Essex Regional Final and now move onto the UK Finals which take place on 3rd June in Cardiff University Business School. We are so proud of them winning Best Company Overall and we’re delighted that their Channing values shone through with an additional win of the Innovation Award, beating all other London and Essex teams across the whole competition!
Ms Bradbury-Rance’s Musical Theatre Ensemble gave a fantastic Music at Lunchtime performance last Friday, presenting songs from The Greatest Showman. With minimal set and props, the group brought the music to life through expressive acting, creative choreography and confident vocals. Highlights included dynamic full-ensemble numbers, powerful solos and duets, imaginative staging, and complex harmonies in the finale. Congratulations to all performers on an impressive showcase of their work so far this year.
Our @youngenterpriseuk team, @seedsandgreetings , led by co-CEOs Ava and James, have been reflecting on their incredible journey so far.
After beating local North London competitors and being awarded Best Company Overall, they have been named the top team in the region.
They now head into the penultimate stage of the competition, hosted tomorrow at Amazon HQ.
This Young Enterprise partnership brings together students from Channing and @staloysiusc , giving them the opportunity to build and run a real company together.
Good luck to the whole team tomorrow!
Today we were joined by our local MP, @tulipsiddiq , who hosted an open forum with our Year 8 and 9 pupils to hear their views on social media and the kinds of restrictions or safeguards young people think should be considered.
Our pupils were eager to share their opinions and recommendations, and Tulip assured them that their valuable feedback would be shared with the Prime Minister and the Government.

A wonderful evening of music from our Sixth From students at the annual ‘music farewell’ concert for Year 13. From vocal solos and ensembles to piano, guitar, saxophone, viola, double bass and violin performances, it was a truly memorable celebration of talent, dedication and commitment. Congratulations to all performers, and a heartfelt thank you to our Year 13 musicians for everything they have contributed to music at Channing.
The U12 team competed in the U13 Girls Schools Association Tournament in Warwick. Despite being a year younger than the other schools, the Channing team finished the group stage with one win three draws and one loss. They progressed to the Plate semi-final but unfortunately lost 2-0 to King Edward VI School, Birmingham. An outstanding effort. Well done.
The U13 drew local rivals Highgate in the first round of the Middlesex Cricket Cup. Having won the toss Channing elected to bat first. An excellent innings by Sophia F scoring 23 runs, aided by Bea W (9) and Sophiya V (9) resulted in a score of 91 runs for 7 wickets.
The Channing team then followed this fabulous batting display with some excellent bowling. Pick of the bowlers Bea W who achieved a hat-trick in one over and finished her two overs with 5 wickets for 0 runs.
Highgate were all out for 44 runs in 10 overs, giving Channing 47 run win.

Last week, Year 1 went on an exciting trip to the Postal Museum! They enjoyed a Maths Workshop linked to posting parcels, learned about the important job that Postal Workers do and found out how letters were sent a long time ago...including a dark but very fun underground ride on the old Mail Rail!
Year 8 enjoyed an excellent performance at the ISFA Regional 7-a-side Tournament. The team topped their group with two wins and two draws, earning a well-deserved place in the semi-final against Forest School. They produced a strong display, enjoying more possession, but were narrowly beaten 1-0.
