For many householders in park homes, rising energy costs aren’t just a financial pressure. They can become a daily source of stress and anxiety, especially when switching suppliers isn’t an option.
Through our Warmer, Greener Park Home Communities project, delivered in partnership with the Scottish Confederation of Park Home Residents Associations, we help signpost residents to support and provide practical help where it’s needed most.
One resident who had been carefully limiting their heating shared how receiving a simple heated blanket transformed their daily comfort:
“The heated throw you gave me has been an item I would never have thought to buy but can't do without now. I now go to a warm bed at night, which is a real luxury.”
This collaboration is a powerful reminder that tackling fuel poverty isn’t only about energy efficiency. It’s about wellbeing, dignity and reducing the emotional strain that comes with not being able to heat your home comfortably. Small changes really can bring warmth, comfort, and relief when people need it most.

Over the past months, our Low Carbon Communities Team has travelled across Scotland as part of the Rural Energy Outreach: Leaving Nobody Behind project and along the way, we’ve seen just how powerful community-led action can be.
This project focused on reaching people in rural areas who can benefit from energy advice and support but often face additional barriers due to geography and access. By working directly with local community groups and volunteers, we’ve been able to connect with those most at risk of falling through the gaps making our services more accessible where they’re needed most.
🌍 The impact so far:
• Engaged over 630 households with energy support and advice
• Delivered 94 events in partnership with 62 community groups
• Reached across 15 council areas
• Distributed energy efficiency packs to 455 households
• Upskilled 21 volunteers to provide energy and smart meter advice
This work has truly been a team effort and something we’re incredibly proud of.
Alongside the outreach, the team also captured some of the stunning landscapes we encountered. Even without people in the frame, it tells a powerful story of rural life and the communities we’re working to support.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this project such a success.
