Offerings included our Mother of Pearl, an Aperol Spritz’ed Madeleine with a zesty Butter Pearl, as well as crowd favorite our Flambé Butter Candle on Toast, consisting of a Black Sesame Loaf cake, Strawberry Basil Compote, and an edible Butter Candle topped with a bow-shaped wick 🔥

Always moved by, but specifically these words, “you eat the flesh, & we eat the rinds” by Maya Angelou, is such a complex, concise, class-divide phrase in such minimal words. I just had to process that, and expand on it, about it in the food world, cultures, appropriation, privilege, and etc.
