EXCITING NEWS from #TIFF50 today! THERE ARE NO WORDS received an honourable mention from the jury in the Best Canadian Feature Film category. Here is what the jury had to say: “An Honourable Mention goes to There Are No Words, written and directed by veteran documentarian Min Sook Lee. This film is a profound and devastating story of unspeakable loss; the shifting shape and mingling of individual and collective memory; the sometimes brutal immigrant experience; and how past violent personal and political realities can continue to define the identity of a family.“ THERE ARE NO WORDS is produced and distributed by the NFB.

Since folks liked my last post about my #phytogram work, here’s another image. I soaked the flowers in vitamin c powder, water and laundry detergent, then laid the flowers on the film emulsion for a couple hours... this is the result before dunking the film into the fixer.

I’ve started using flowers to expose film. It’s a magical and tactile process.
