After years of hoping, trying, and more heartbreak than anyone should have to go through… my brother Jordan and sister-in-law Mels finally got the news they wanted. 🩵🩷 I’ve watched them walk a road that was anything but easy, so this moment was especially wonderful for the family. My dad Elliot was everywhere in that moment. He would have lost his mind over this—his son becoming a father, his favorite, Mels, becoming a mom. He’s not here physically, but I have zero doubt he had a hand in making this happen. Watch until the end. 🎂 (The cake is from the incredibly talented @dulcedelechecakeshop in Brightwaters—the ONLY place I get my cakes from now.)

Today marks one year without my father, Elliot Scott. It’s still hard for me to even write those words. To honor him, I want to share what I wrote and read to everyone in the room as we said goodbye. It’s long, so it continues in the comment section: “Dad was a storyteller. His tales were grand, which made him larger than life. If you’re in this room, chances are you’ve heard the embellished narratives: how he got hit by a car not once but twice as a kid; how he was easily bullied as a skinny twig with a big mouth but always had protection (shout-out to Aunt J and all his buddies); how he’d had 70-something “surgeries” (a surgery to him was getting a hangnail checked out); how he brought the news cameras to his house following a tornado and put on a show like you wouldn’t believe (if you ask him, he was at the gym working out while it happened—but it was really physical therapy). While sometimes exaggerated, they were always rooted in truth. Since the young age of 5, Dad was a caretaker and people pleaser. He jumped into the “man of the house” role right after his father died in December of ’65. He loved his mother, Charlotte, more than life itself. And his siblings—Lisa, Caren, Jackie, Tami, and Allan—were everything to him. The love he had for them grew into the love he had for people in general. Some folks are lucky to have one or two really good friends; my dad had dozens. You could know him for five minutes and he’d be offering you food or inviting you over for the holidays. One Christmas, we noticed a stranger sitting at our table. It turned out it was a cashier from PathMark who didn’t have family or a place to go. In came Elliot to invite them to ours. He was always taking care of others.

I didn’t grow up with a grandfather, but somewhere along the way I started calling him Grandpa Sullivan… and it just felt right. Being around him always made life a little warmer. He was 92. What a life he lived. I’m grateful I got to be part of his world, and even more grateful for the family he gave me—my step-mom @rierie9 , his granddaughters @kristenq13_ @cnhc_ @brookecostigan 🤍 love you all.

Another Salem trip in the books 📚 I’ve been visiting for 14 years now, and it truly never gets old. The best part? Spending time with the wonderful women in my life 🖤 If you’re looking for a magical getaway with your friends, add this charming Massachusetts town to your list. Yes, October is peak season — but trust me, it’s beautiful all through fall (and even summer). Highlights this year: ➡️ @salemnightfaire — hands down the coolest thing I’ve ever experienced here. @blackveiltattoo truly outdid themselves. Over 50 merchants, creepy-beautiful beings at every turn, and unreal vibes. ➡️ Stayed in Marblehead again — my 4th year doing it, and I’m still obsessed. ➡️ #HocusPocus flights at @farfromthetreecider . ➡️ Espresso martinis + dancing at @onhallowedgrounds (shoutout to Jonathan for taking such good care of us!). ➡️ Group meals at @thederbysalem and @brodiesseaport . ➡️ Wigging out as the Wizard of Oz / Wicked crew (and seeing everyone else in Salem in their costumes). ➡️ Watching some of my favorite people experience Salem for the first time 🪄 Until next year, Salem 🔮 #salem #salemmassachusetts #salemma #halloween #happyhalloween #wicked #elphaba #wizardofoz

From big breakfasts to dinners that felt like events, @stinekennedy still managed to spoil all of us while being the birthday girl. That’s just who she is—thoughtful, extra in the best way, and the constant in nearly every era of my life. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate her: a beautiful Hamptons house, laughing like maniacs, eating like kings, hitting some of our favorite spots, all surrounded by some of her favorite people. Happy 40th, Stine. 🥂✨

Nine incredible years with this girl right here ❤️ Our Bailey is truly one of a kind. She was there for me through the hardest time of my life and has seen it all by my side. Her love is the purest, most unconditional thing I’ll ever know. There really is no love like a dog’s—and I’ll forever be grateful for hers. 🐾
