This week marks the anniversary of the dedication of the UK memorial to President Kennedy at Runnymede. Jackie brought John Jr. and Caroline over to London for the ceremony, and to spend time with their cousins, the Radziwills.
This series of photos of the two families watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is one of my favorites. The Queen arranged for them to watch the ceremony inside the gates, to have just a bit of privacy.

In honor of Mother’s Day, a preview of my book’s acknowledgements (and a little advice courtesy of Jackie Kennedy):
I signed on to write The Kennedys and the Windsors when I was just a few months pregnant with my son Tommy, and at the time it seemed ambitious. Now looking back, it was borderline delusional. But somehow I did it! That somehow involved the help of many, many people. Friends and family, coworkers, my agent and editors, and a full team at @Putnam .
I feel so lucky that I was able to write my first book and become a mom at the same time. Tommy had my whole heart but I’m so excited for The Kennedys & the Windsors to be out in the world in just a few weeks!

Truly never not thinking about the Kennedys and the royals. Today during King Charles’s historic address to Congress, he spoke of the Kennedy Memorial at Runnymede:
“There stands a stone, by the River Thames at Runnymede where Magna Carta was signed in the year 1215. This stone records that an acre of that ancient and historic site was given to the U.S.A. by the people of the United Kingdom, to symbolise our shared resolve in support of liberty, and in memory of President John F. Kennedy.”
