Liam & Friends follows Indigenous Olympic snowboarder Liam Gill as he returns to the mountains that shaped him—this time as a mentor.
Through his youth program in the Northwest Territories, Liam is building something bigger than sport.
A space for resilience.
Leadership.
And showing up for the next generation.
Set against the Rockies and backed by a powerful hip-hop soundtrack, this is a story about carving a new path—and bringing others with you.

For back to back shooting days a lot was going on for @liamandfriends.film and I sure learned a lot of lessons along the way! 🙏
For audio there was 6 different audio sources, varying environmental conditions, field sound checklists and shifting storylines.
A "can do" collaborative team is the difference maker where planning, problem solving and flexibility all come together.
New found respect for the production process 🙏🎬
Chad Blain is a kind and generous creative whose work consistently uplifts emerging filmmakers, celebrates meaningful causes, and shines a light on remarkable people. He made the leap from theatre to film as the editor for AMPIA’s 2016 Upstart Program — where I first met him —, and I was immediately struck by his respect, humility, and collaborative spirit.

When you start something like this, you hope it makes a difference… but you never really know if it does.
I just want to say thank you — to every volunteer, panelist, rider, coach, parent, and supporter who has leaned in and helped along the way.
You’ve helped young people feel supported and have a voice.
You’ve helped normalize hard conversations.
You’ve helped build something that matters.
Grateful for all of you 🧡
Let’s keep showing up for each other!

Thank you @anchoragefilmfestival ❄️🎬
I went to Alaska to screen @liamandfriends.film to share @trill_grill_ story and left Alaska as a fan of so many other filmmakers ranging from narrative, comedy to docs.
Spending a few days taking in films, meeting passionate filmmakers and taking in the thought provoking panel discussions was the recharge and inspiration I needed ✌️
Appreciate meeting everyone and the hard work of the festival organizers and volunteers ❤️
