my new single 'walk on by' will be urs may 12th and will act as the leading single to my upcoming EP - this song is my interpolation of my favorite dionne warwick song . here's a look inside my mind, heart and very personal journal entries ⭐️🏡
this song is a great detailed story of the journey of my first love, who started as my best friend, and then became my fiancé, only to have everything crash and burn, having the rug ripped right from under me. i was so lost and heartbroken. it took me a while to realize that my pain could never make me bash her in my art or ever and the best thing i could do for my alchemy was to tell my story, with her and our relationship only being a fraction of my life and the work that i've put in for so long. a dedicated journey of self reflection, discovery, discipline, purging, and trusting in myself all over again. being so scared of what's to come that i couldn't even tell MY story, almost letting it be narrated from another's perspective, and damn near throwing in the towel. so i had to ask myself "how would they know what happened to u, if u never paint them a picture to prove?" still learning to find power in my strong suits, which is great story telling. so here is where i start painting my canvas.
