Theme: The Holy Ghost in a believer.
Text: Acts 19:2
It is basic that every believer upon receiving Jesus into their will have the Holy Ghost.
The Holy Ghost is the seal that seals our salvation... Eph. 1:3
A seal is a stamp that shows that a transaction is no longer continuing, it has been done, from this, we see that our salvation is done.
It is the Holy Ghost that activates our salvation. The Holy Ghost softens our heart to receive God's word.
The Holy Ghost indwells us as believers and that means that the Holy Ghost is within us forever.
The new birth happened only by believing and not by changing of behavior. The Holy Ghost in us helps us to change our behavior.
Anyone who does not have the Holy Ghost is not a believer. Rom. 8:9
How to know that you have the Holy Ghost is that you have Jesus.
You could not have believed without the Holy Ghost, it is the Holy Ghost that makes us believe and sustains our sonship. Rom 8:14
The Holy Ghost was a promise that prophets prophesied about and Jesus talked about. Ezekiel 36:27
-The prophets prophesied that the Holy Ghost will dwell in us to possess us and direct us.
Does the Holy Ghost leave a believer when he does something wrong? 1st Cor. 2:12, 6:19
- The Holy Ghost does not go to and fro, he abides with us forever.
- There's never a moment the Holy Ghost leaves a believer.
The Holy Ghost for a believer is like a road sign, showing you the road to go. He is not going to determine whether you go the road or not. Following the leading of the Holy Ghost is up to you. Ezekiel 36:27, Eph 2:10.
The higher purpose of the Holy Ghost is to show, guide and protect the believer.
Devil cannot be possess a believer, but can speak to a believer from the outside, those are called external voices.
When a believer begins to follow the external voices, the believer is following the devil.
How you know believers who are not growing Spiritually is that they don't follow the leading of the Spirit.
-They fulfilled the desires of the external voice (the devil)
-They live a life that may not look like who they are.
The only way a believer can be alive is to be alive in God.
Theme: Exchange
Texts: John 15:6, 1 John 3:2, Gal 2:20
An exchange will always be in favour of someone. This means that someone is going to have to give up something that is of more value for something lower or nothing.
Jesus decided to exchange something (his life) for nothing (our life that was dead). In order words, Jesus exchanged our nothingness with his life. He gave us His life while we yet dead in sin.
The following happens at the point of exchange:
- You let go of what you have: The giver lets go and the reciever lets go too. The reciever refers to the one recieving higher value. Jesus gave up his life so we can have the his life, we (the receivers have to let go our deadness) to recieve the life of Jesus.
- The cross is an alter of exhange; you cannot come to the cross and remain the same.
You must pick up eternal life, you must let go the dead life. The cross is a place where Jesus exhanged our condemned life for eternal life.
Jesus is the access point to eternal life. John: 15:6
Christ did everything and concluded everything concerning our reconciliation to God. 1 John 3:2.
An exchange makes the former obsolete. Gal. 2:20.
Living your former life means living a dead life. Realising that you need Christ means realisation that you were dead and that's when the new life starts.
The exchange happened on the cross and your dead life was exchanged for eternal life.
Finally;
-At the cross, Jesus took away our eternal death and gave us eternal life.
-Jesus took our accusations which were true anyway, and made us free to live. The life we live is the eternal life that Jesus gave us.

Theme: Benefits of the Cross (Spiritual Realities)
It is possible to live a life that's outside of reality.
Reality means "actually existing" not futuristic or promissory. Not imagination.
As one who's been redeemed by the blood of Jesus, certain things ought to be real to you.
Isaiah 35:1-9, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Hebrews 8:1-12
The New Testament was concealed in the Old Testament while the old testament was revealed in the new testament. Everything that God said in the old testament pointed to what would do in Christ.
They all became real in the new testament. Isa 35:1-9, Heb. 8:1-12.
The New Covenant we have in Christ were there from before the foundations of the earth, just like the Bible records that Jesus, the lamb, was slain even before the foundations of the earth.
The sacrifices of the old could never wash sin away, but the blood of Jesus washed all our sins away for all times. One of the realities of a believer is that his/her sins has been washed away both past, present and future.
Christ first made you perfect, then he's doing a continuous work of sanctification through the Holy Spirit in you. Heb. 10:14.
This continuous work is what shapes you daily and begins to change your outlook from inside out.
The reason God erased your sins before you were born is because he cannot behold sin. And you should not have a reason not to come to him.
As believers, we don't run from God when we sin, we run to God to receive forgiveness.
While an unbeliever has a believing problem, the believer has a knowledge problem!
As a believer, when you declare that you are righteous, it is not pride, it is your reality, it is what you know.
New life in Christ exists because the old life is obsolete.
The new life is better. The law is repealed. Grace is now the new life.
Hebrews 10:19

Forgiveness as a Benefit of the Cross
The Cross is a symbol of man's eternal redemption. Every part of Christ became sin for us. Colossians 2:14
The cross is not about the wood, it's about the event, the death of Christ.
When we received the forgiveness of Christ, we became beneficiaries of the cross, we became righteous.
A hedge is a consciousness of our righteousness in Christ.
The Cross Dramatised.
1. Abraham and Isaac: Abraham would sacrifice Isaac, but God provided a lamb. The lamb was sacrificed instead. A kind of crossing, the lamb crossed over to Isaac's stead.
2. The red sea would have swallowed the children of Israel, but they crossed over and the the Egyptian army was swallowed instead.
3. The brazen serpent was a saving grace for those who could look up to it, as it hung on a pole.
4. The tradition of confessing all sins upon a goat, which was left to stray and die as sacrifice to atone for wrongdoings.
Simply put, God took away our sins and guilt, and substituted them with eternal life. Jesus, who was sinless, took all our sins.
Noteworthy Concepts about forgiveness.
1. Jesus forgives sins. Some problems people encounter is because they've not received forgiveness of sin. The problem of man is not sickness, poverty and material things, the problem of man is sin and Jesus paid for the sin of man on the cross and forgave the sin of mankind.
2. Forgiveness isn't only for a sin or period. Forgiveness is all times and all sins, past sins, present sins and future sin. When we recieve forgiveness, we begin to live away from sin and live in the Love of Christ.
3. Forgiveness isn't about the amount of sin. It's commonplace to hear people "he's hurt me so much, that I can't forgive him". Christ forgave every sin, no matter the weight. Colossians 2:13-15.
4. God already forgave man of all his sins. I John 2:1.
When God forgives you;
Grow to maturity.
Tell others that God forgives and that His forgiveness doesn't weigh sins.
