Congratulations to CGH Senior Nurse Manager Simon Ong on being conferred the 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿 (𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿) 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 at the NTUC May Day Awards 2026! 🏆 The annual awards recognise individuals and organisations whose work has meaningfully improved the wages, welfare, and work prospects of Singapore's workers. Excited to strengthen our innovation ecosystem with the launch of our in-house CGH 3D Print Lab, supporting more personalised approaches to patient care, medical education and innovation. Officially opened in April 2026 in collaboration with AuMed, the 3D Print Lab supports the development of patient-specific anatomical models, pre-operative planning models, customised surgical guides and educational resources. Through translating medical imaging into tangible 3D models, care teams can better visualise each patient’s anatomy, support more precise surgical planning and explore new ways to educate and innovate meaningfully in healthcare. Bringing this capability in-house also enables faster turnaround and more tailored support for our care teams through closer collaboration, for more effective care innovation. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthen capabilities as #YourTrustedCarePartner, #InnovatingHealthcareForTomorrow. #CGHCares #ChangiGeneralHospital #HealthcareTransformation

🎨 Expressing joy and wonder with fingerprints of colour! Our care team had the pleasure of hosting children from 🌈 @clubrainbowsingapore for an engaging finger art painting session at the #CaringGeneralHospital earlier this month. Guiding the young artists as they poured their hearts onto the canvas, expressing joy and wonder through fingerprints of colour made it a truly meaningful and heartwarming evening for everyone. 🩵 #CGHCares #YourTrustedCarePartner #ClubRainbowSG #CGHCSR

Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is largely inherited — with 𝟭 𝗶𝗻 𝟱 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 having elevated levels. Yet, awareness and testing remain low. Unlike other cholesterol markers, Lp(a) levels stays relatively stable throughout life. Lp(a) can contribute to plaque build-up in blood vessels, increasing the risk of heart attack, stroke, and other cardiovascular conditions. The good news: 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. 🎥 Watch the video to learn what Lp(a) is, why it matters, and how you can take proactive steps through regular monitoring, healthy habits, and working with your care team to protect heart health. 📲 Our CGH endocrinology senior consultant Dr Loh Wann Jia shares deeper insights on lipoproteins and cardiovascular risk via the link in bio. #CGHCares #ChangiGeneralHospital #YourTrustedCarePartner #LipoproteinA #HeartHealth

♻️ 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁, 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲: 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗯𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 CGH anaesthetist and co-chair of the hospital’s sustainability committee Dr Jo-Anne Yeo saw an opportunity to give retired hospital scrubs a second life. Sharing her idea to turn them into reusable scrub caps, Environmental Services manager Theresa Tan and seamstress Lim Zee Moey brought it to life, working through rounds of trial and error to refine the design, dimensions, and structure of each cap so that our care team could wear them well in the operating theatre. The caps are lined with material from old hospital blankets, ensuring nothing goes to waste. Zee Moey, whose work includes mending hospital linens – from bedsheets, towels, and blankets to patient gowns, scrub suits, and curtains – as well as washing essential patient items, takes on this initiative in addition to her daily responsibilities. Since September 2023, the effort has recycled about 178kg of scrubs to produce nearly 420 reusable scrub caps – resulting in more than 5,040kg of CO₂ emissions saved. A small but meaningful reminder that sewing the seeds of sustainability in healthcare can start with a single stitch. 💚 Swipe to learn more about this initiative! #CGHCares #ChangiGeneralHospital #CaringGeneralHospital #CleanandGreenHospital #HealthcareSustainability
