The CGD | PBK team will be at the A4LE North Carolina Conference next week and we’re excited to be part of the conversation. Join Ali McClure, Scott Powell, Crystal O’Connor, and Will Anderson (Richland School District Two) for a dynamic session exploring how research-driven design and post-occupancy evaluation can work together to create learning environments that truly support student success.
This interactive session dives into how biophilic and student-centered design strategies influence academic performance, well-being, and engagement—while equipping districts with tools to measure real impact beyond square footage. Attendees will collaborate, connect outcomes to design decisions, and explore how strong partnerships between districts and design teams can drive continuous improvement.

John and Adam recently attended Greenville Theatre’s 100 Year Gala, celebrating an incredible legacy in the community. As the design team behind their upcoming addition and renovation, this moment feels especially meaningful—CGD originally designed the building in 1967, making this a true full-circle milestone and a proud win for our team.
The A4LE Southeast Regional conference is finally here and we look forward to visiting with old friends and getting to know new connections this week. Fountain Inn High School integrates an Institute for Automation and Engineering with a flexible, high-tech STEAM learning environment to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing through hands-on, collaborative education.
🍃Tour 2 - Roper Mountain Environmental Science Center
Roper Mountain Science Center is an award-winning, community-focused facility that engages learners of all ages through immersive, hands-on science and social studies experiences that inspire curiosity and connection to the natural world.
Our team is looking forward to the Association for Learning Environments Southeast Regional Conference happening right here in Greenville next week—and we’re bringing more than just our name badge.

Melissa Scarborough and Meghan Moore had a great time connecting with students at Abner Creek Middle School’s Spartanburg District 5 7th Grade Career Fair on Friday. From sharing what it’s like to design spaces for learning to sparking curiosity about careers in architecture and interior design, it’s always inspiring to engage with the next generation of creatives.
Today we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his enduring legacy of leadership, service, and justice. We pause to reflect on the values he championed and the role education plays in creating a more equitable future.
